Narrator PoV:

There are many concepts of our reality that we have yet to understand or even acknowledge. The stars that make up the night sky, the atoms that make up everything we will ever know, even the super massive voids of space that engulf light itself in their gravitational pull. But something that seems to always be feeding researchers with treasure troves of information, even after hundreds of years of examination and experimentation, is the mind and body of our very own species.

From outclassing the animals that roam our planet; to concocting deep, interconnecting, philosophical and technological advancements for the further benefit of humanity. There has always been more about ourselves that is just waiting to be explored. That drive for knowledge was no less curious, when one day in the midst of a worldwide pandemic that plagued the early 2000s, a baby girl was born in Xingxing, China, that glowed a beautiful bioluminescent light. It was the start of a new era, where people born with supernatural abilities emerged from the woodwork and displayed their gifts to the world.

However, nothing is without its flaws.

Scientists and researchers of the world were quick to realize and confirm that only a select few were able to develop these new abilities; aptly named ‘quirks.' And that “few” were only those of the female population born in or after 2020. Word of this discovery was kept under lock and key for a good twenty or so years, as the birth rates for females skyrocketed and quirks became more rampant within them.

It didn’t take long for a revolution to begin as soon as word got out. To say that all hell broke loose would be an understatement. The women of the world, who lusted for power despite being on equal footing with men before quirks emerged, took swift action against the men of the world, killing them in droves by utilizing the abilities of their young daughters. By 2200, approximately half of the male species had been completely wiped out with no regard to their human or civil rights.

With these quirks, women changed the laws of the world to benefit them. Cities and countries were remodeled to cater to them. They had everything they could ever want, but it still wasn’t enough for some. Villains began to emerge by the dozens, causing chaos and spreading fear with their powerful quirks. In an effort to stop them, the newly appointed officials of the world created a profession for those who were powerful and had a sense of justice.

Thus marked the dawning of the first ever Heroes. They inspired hope and brought great prosperity to their respective countries by rooting out evil wherever they saw it. Over the next few centuries, these women, and women like them, became stories and legends for young mothers to retell to their daughters, perhaps bringing about new Heroes that would continue on the paths their ancestors crafted.

Now, you may be wondering, what exactly happened to the remaining men after 2200? Well, nothing much actually. Yes, they were made to be under the boots of women across the globe, but humans are not without consciousness and mercy. While women are catered to and free to become powerful figureheads in society, as well as Heroes, the men were left to act akin to slaves, minus the physical punishment in most cases.

The men are the ones who work every menial or physically taxing job in society, from mere office work, to coal miners, to construction workers. They were forced to rebuild the world that they had created from the day God had put them on the Earth. And now, far into the unpredictable future, nature has finally begun its correctional course, all starting with one man.
