(Don't play the song till I say so)
3rd person's POV:
"Papa can you buy me a dog?"you smiled as you sat on your father's lap.

He looked at you questionably. "Why so sudden?"he laughed at your excited 4-year old body that was about to combust due to your excitement.

"I want a friend"you smiled again and he frowned.

Being known was good for him but for you? You always had to be by his side. He was afraid someone would get you and take you away.

But of course who could blame him? Fathers only wanted the best for their sons and daughters.

"Who'll take care of it?"he asked. "I'll be busy honey I can't look after you both at the same time"he says and you look down

He sighed. You pout, already knowing what the answer was.

"I'm sorry darlin"he said and kissed your forehead and hugged you.

"No it's okay papa.....but can you buy me a uke...uke..lay..le?"you trip over your words which made your dad laugh.

"Ukelele?"he asked and you smile.

"Yes that"you giggle and he pretends to think.

"Pleaseeeeee"you say and made puppy eyes, knowing he can't say no.

He sighed and smiled.

"Okay..."he says and you smile and hug him.

"Thank you papa"you say and giggleas you get off your father's lap and waddle to your playthings.

He smiled. You were so pure for him. So innocent, like an angel. Well for him you were a blessing, a miracle if you say.

You started getting a paper and crayons and stared drawing and scribbling.

Your father stood up after a while and got his guitar and started strumming random notes and humming to himself.

You faced the sound of the guitar and smiled at your father.

You got your drawing and walked to your dad.

"Papa can I strum?"you ask

He smiles and puts you on his lap.

"Here yah go"you say and give him your drawing of a stick man with a cowboy hat and a guitar.

"This is the most beautiful drawing I have ever seen"your dad kissed your cheek and you giggle.

"You say that everytime papa"you laugh and carressed the strings with your tiny hands as your father analized your drawing.

"I got a feeling called the blues. Oh lord since my papa said goodbye"you sing, strumming different strings.

Your dad laughed at you. "I had to think it all over. I lost my heart it seeeemsssss"you tried to copy your father which made him cackle more

"Oh sweetheart. Here lemme try"your dad says and you laugh pushing the guitar to him

He puts his fingers at tye neck of the guitar and strums a soft tone.

(Play the song above now)

"Don't think I've ever seen your kind of pretty.
Wandering round in this midnight madhouse city"he smiles at you.

You lay your head against his chest, your eyes shining with admiration for your father, your hero, and your life.

"You got a look that says you got it all together
So if you don't mind I'd like to know you better"he continued as he closes his eyes.

This was the song he played for you every night, it was also the song he sang to your mother.

He smiled sadly.

"Take me the long way around your town.
Were you the queen with the silver crown?
I want the secrets you keep, the shine underneath
Of the diamond I think I just found
Take me the long way around"he sang as he reminisced all the memories of him and his love.

Oh how she would love to sing along with him everytime he strummed some tunes. But now all he had was you.

He sighed and looked at you, eyes closed and snoring softly, your tiny hand placed on the guitar

He carefully placed the guitar down before lifting you up.

He walked to your room, tucked you in bed, and kissed your forehead.

"Goodnight sweetheart"he smiled as he closed the door
