Harry

People wrongly assume that because I’m a nice guy I can’t have one night stands, or I can’t sleep with fans. The truth of the matter is both of those things can be facts and also happen at the same time. Just because I choose to sleep with a fan doesn’t mean I’m an asshole, but it’s all about perspective in these situations.

I think that’s part of the reason I try so hard to be an outwardly nice person; I don’t want people to hear things about my personal life and judge me unfairly, so I tailor the information the public gets to work in my favour. That’s ultimately the reason why when the group of us go out in Melbourne city after the concert and I see a homeless guy I give him money – more money than he probably could have dreamed for.

“Hey man what’s your name?”

“Shaun, what’s yours?”

“Harry.”

“Harry, you have no idea what this is going to do for me, no idea at all. Thank you so much.”

“Don’t worry about it it’s my pleasure, you have a safe night Shaun.”

It’d probably disappoint a lot of people to know that my motives in these situations aren’t altruistic. I mean I enjoy helping others, it’s a great feeling when you can give to those that don’t have what you do, but it definitely has it perks. Like the fact that Alex notices and is obviously impressed by my kindness.

“That was so sweet of you Harry. You hear all the time about the nice things you and the other guys do but to actually see it happen, it’s a different kind of feeling.”

“Alex it’s not that simple, I’m not as much of a saint as you make it sound.”

“Perhaps, but sometimes in situations such as these the ends justify the means. You just made that guys day, no matter the reason behind it. Give yourself some credit for that.”

It may be incredibly cliché to think this, but it’s strange how one person can change your opinion on something so quickly by offering you the way they see things. It’s also equally as strange how someone you think of as a potential temporary figure in your life can just as quickly become someone you want more permanently.

Alex

Meeting someone famous that you look up to is an experience in itself, but when they were your literal celebrity crush and everything it’s a bit more so. I will happily admit Harry Styles was that for guy for me and meeting him blew my expectations out of the water.

I could actually feel how my old crush on him was creeping back, especially after seeing him with the homeless man. It was really obvious that the same thing was happening to both Katelyn and Naks; their crushes on Zayn and Louis were inching back into them and the mood was definitely changing from friendly to wow-I-kind-of-really-still-love-you.

It’s a hard situation to be in though. Just because we’ve had the opportunity to meet them and we’re getting along more like friends would, doesn’t automatically mean we’re all going to fall in love and live happily ever after. There’s something to be said about ‘staying in your lane’ as Katelyn would put it. They’re extremely famous and we will never understand what that’s like – well unless a miracle intervenes sometime soon – and so that would make a normal relationship really difficult.

Not to mention their fans can be slightly insane sometimes, we have first-hand knowledge of that. Add all of those factors up and you start to wonder if your little crush is really worth all the trouble that this fantasy relationship is bringing to your life before it even starts.

That’s why even though most girls with a crush on Harry would kill to be in my position right now, my mind keeps going back to someone else.
