"Where do you wanna sit?" Dean is speaking close to my ear, the tray with both our orders in his hands.
"I don't care. Away from the door." Luke's still laughing with George.
"Let's go sit in that booth." Dean nods to a booth by the window and when he starts moving that way I follow. "Scoot in." I'm too wrapped up in my head to protest. Dean places my food in front of me and I absentmindedly stare out the window while nibbling on some chips.
"Are people going to be all creepy and weird about this?"
"What?" Dean leans in to hear what I'm saying. I turn from the window and look him in the eye.
"Is everyone going to be like George?" I scrunch my nose. "All 'good job Dean' about it."
Dean looks over his shoulder at the register. "I don't think so. That's just George, he's a bit of a dick."
Luke dumps himself and his tray on the opposite side of the booth. "George says there's a party over at some chick's house tonight."
"Some chick's house?" I share a look with Dean over the burger he's shoving into his mouth.
"Yeah, I don't know. George like..." Luke thinks his answer over. "...collects them."
"Wow, that's like really disgusting. What does he do with them after they've been collected?"
"Sleeps with them? Fuck do I know!" Luke gestures with his cup and takes a long sip. "Anyway, one of them has a party and he invited us over. Oh yeah, and he said I should tell you and Allie."
I shudder. "What? He wants to 'collect' us too?" Luke looks at me for a second, before he too shudders.
But whatever he's going to say is interrupted by Dean. "Allie's sick. And you have a boyfriend." His face is set as he drowns his chips in ketchup.
"Yeah, she is. But I don't have..." I close my mouth as Dean turns to me with an annoyed look on his face. "Wait. I do, don't I?" I blow a breath out. "Man, I keep forgetting that part. I wish I could make myself remember, I'll fuck this up otherw..." Dean grabs my face and presses a hard kiss on my still talking mouth. I grab his wrists and I'm sure I mean to shove him off me, but I hold on and let it happen. His lips are salty and his tongue cold.A click has me snapping out of it. Dean lets me go and we both turn to Luke who still has his phone out. "You just need a new wallpaper for your phone." My phone buzzes with a text. Dean checks his phone too. Luke's sent us both the picture of us kissing. It actually looks like we're into each other, and that I'm not at all annoyed.
"Luke, you're such a dick sometimes." I save the picture though. "And you." I turn to Dean and punch him in the arm with every word I say. "Don't. Ever. Do. That. Again. Without. Asking."
"What the fuck Lily! Why do you have to punch so hard?" Dean's face is in a pout as he rubs his arm. "I'm trying to make us look like a couple!"
"As if we'd be all cute and shit."
"We Could Be!" He gestures between us. He looks at Luke. "Right?"
Luke snickers. "I'd pay to see you guys not arguing 24/7, but I doubt you'll pull it off."
Man, he gets under my skin so fast. "Is that a dare?"The mirth on my twin's face evaporated as he stares into my eyes. "Yes Lily, I fucking dare you to be cute together. For the whole week." Dean chokes on his soda.
"THE WHOLE..." I lower my voice. "The whole week?"
"Oh yes, Little Lily. The. Whole. Fucking. Week." He has that intense look in his eyes, the one I cannot help but react to, and even though I'm screaming on the inside: I stare back and nod. Triumph lights his face. "Alright! This will be the best week in forever."
"But what happens if we lose?" Dean seems to have been able to keep his cool. "And what do we get if we win?"
"Yeah! I want a prize!" I point with my milkshake at my twin.
"If you lose Lily, you do all our chores for a month." Luke shrugs. "And I guess it's the reversed if you actually do win." He snorts at the thought of me being able to be cute with Dean for a week.
"I'm not sure chores are worth this." I take a sulky sip of milkshake.
Luke leans over the table. "Wardrobe week is coming."
"Impossible! October isn't until..."
Dean butts in. "Next week."
"Aw, man!" I slouch down on the bench.
"And you Dean... I guess you gift me all the Pro Skins you have, when you lose."
"And when I win, you gift me all of yours?" Luke nods. They shake hands. We finish the meal in thoughtful silence. The wind's picked up and I rub my bare arms as I step out of Star Burger. Luke's stuck talking with George again, apparently his shift is almost over and he wanted to know if we were coming tonight.
"You cold?"
I snort a laugh. "I keep forgetting it's not summer anymore."
"Come here." Dean kinda holds his arms out. I'm about to tell him no, when an ice cold wind ruffles my hair. I refuse to put my arms around him though, I just tuck them between us and bury my face in his chest. "See, perks of us being cute: no freezing. Also, you're getting out of sorting all those wardrobes."
"Yeah. I'll do almost anything to get out of that." I smile into his t-shirt. "Dating you is a piece a cake in comparison."
Dean leans back to look into my eyes. "And, like if you want, you can totally use my body however you want." He wiggles his eyebrows and yesterday I would have thought him a total douche, but today I laugh at him.
"You're disgusting."
He pretends to be offended. "Hey, I never said anything about sex!"
"But you totally thought about it!"
His smile becomes mischievous. "Always."
I shrug my shoulders and tilt my head a little. "Honestly, same." Dean cracks up, hanging on to me as the the laughter rolls through his body. I fight my own laughter as I try to seem serious. "What? I can't think of sex?"
Dean collects himself and shakes his head. "No Lily, I should have known you'd say something like that, because you really are that fucking crazy. I don't know. I feel drunk."
"That's just all that sugar in your soda." The door opens and Luke ambles over to us. "I'm a fucking icicle. Let's go already!"
He lifts an eyebrow at us. "Yeah, you're looking like you're really suffering." Dean lets me go before I can shove at him, like he anticipated my reaction to Luke's jibe. "And we're waiting for George. I said we could drive him." I just look at my brother before turning to the car. Luke sighs behind me, but unlocks the car without me having to say anything.
