"You read the autopsy report," Luther says to Diego.

Diego looks confused, and breathes out, "and...?"

Luther continues, "When they found the body, his
monocle was missing."

But still, Diego repeats, "and...?"

I leaned in now, more interested, and everyone else seemed to as well. Except for Klaus who looked like he was on another planet.

"And think about it. Have any of
you, ever, seen Dad without that monocle? Even once?" Luther says and my eyes widen with surprise.

I let out a baited breath and threw myself back in the chair. "Holy shit!" I mutter.

But Allison nor Diego seem to get it. "No," Allison says confused.

"And your point?" Diego says.

I roll my eyes at them, glad our relation isn't genetic because I sure wouldn't want to carry the trait of being that oblivious.

"That whoever has that monocle is
either the last person to see our father alive, or the first one to see him dead. I don't care what you thought of him, I really don't," Luther starts. "What any of you thought. You wanna hate his guts, fine, who gives a shit. But we're not gonna pretend like this thing didn't happen. We owe Dad that much."

Diego stares blankly, and I almost think he's going to agree for a second. But then, he just shoots "Get help, Luther. Seriously."

He then turns to us, "Number Five, Rose, enjoy puberty. Allison, good luck with that Best Beach Bods of the Summer list. I hear there's some real fierce competition this year," she flips him off.
"Klaus," Diego continues but he just flashed a smile back.

"Are we leaving?" Klaus asks standing up.

Diego shakes his head, gripping the duffle bag, "I'm leaving. By myself."

"Lovely. I'll get my things," Klaus doesn't take the hint, or just ignores it all together and I laugh at Diego. If he's gonna be an asshole than at least he can deal with Klaus high out of his mind.

As everyone begins to disperse, Five goes back to angrily slamming things around looking for the coffee.

That left just Him, Pogo and I in the kitchen.

"Pogo, for the love of Christ, tell me there's coffee somewhere," Five begs.

"Your father didn't believe in caffeine," Pogo sighs, and I almost laughed at Fives disappointed face.

"Of course he didn't," Five mutters, hoping down and walking to me. "We're taking the Bentley into town," Five tells Pogo as he grabs my arm and heads to the garage.

I look at his hand that holds my arm hesitantly, and whisper, "do you even know how to drive?"

"I know how to do everything," he shoots back, holding my arm tighter.
