Y/N POV

I shift slightly as I hear the annoying sound of my alarm clock go off. I open my eyes enough to see my familiar bedside table. I hit the button on the alarm to turn it off. 6:30am. It's time I get up and get ready for class. At least it was the last week of school for summer break.

I get up from my comfy bed in the corner of my room and walk to my dresser. I pick out a plain light blue t-shirt, a pair of high waisted skinny jeans, and a pair of black socks. I head into the bathroom to change, brush my hair, and brush my teeth. While brushing my teeth I scroll through my phone notifications to see what I had. I send my streaks on snapchat and close my phone.

By the time I had finished getting ready, it was about time to walk out the door. I usually don't eat breakfast so I was okay with leaving without eating. I leave my apartment building and get in my car to head to class. I make it to school on time and head to my class no problem.

(Disclaimer: I am but a high schooler, I don't know how college works.)

I sit in the same seat I normally sit at and look around as I wait for the lecture to start. While I'm looking away I could tell somebody else had taken a seat at my table. I assumed it was my best friend Alexis but when I looked over it was a boy, most certainly not Alexis.

"Hey, I hope it isn't a big deal that I sit here, some other people stole my normal seat so...I'm Nick by the way." He explained, turning his head to his normal seat and then looking back toward me.

I glance toward where he looked to see a group of the popular students at his regular table and then back to him, "Yeah it's fine. I'm Y/N." I smiled at him.

We had some small talk about ourselves before the lecture had begun. During the lecture Nick and I found ourselves trading small smiles at eachother here and there, along with passing a small piece of paper back and forth to have a conversation, careful to make sure the teacher wasn't looking.

About 10 minutes into the lecture my best friend Alexis silently walked into the classroom and took a seat at my table with Nick and I, confused as to why he was sitting here. She set her bag down next to her, pretending to have been here the whole time. I wrote down on a piece of paper his name and why he was at our table before sliding it to Lex. She nodded in response and shot a smile at Nick before paying attention to the lecture.

Once the lecture ended I slid my notebook into my bag and swung it over my shoulder. I waited for Lex and started walking out of the classroom with her. As I had just exited the classroom I felt someone lightly grab my arm. I looked over to see Nick, and he motioned for me to come stand off to the side of the hallway. I nodded and looked at Lex.

"I'll catch up, you go ahead." I said to her, in which she nodded and I stepped off to the side of the hallway with Nick.

"I just wanted to say thanks for letting me sit with you today." He said.

"Oh it was no problem, really. I wanted to ask though, maybe you could keep sitting with me? Only if you want to though of course." I asked, worried he'd say no.

"Defintely! I'd love to keep sitting with you. You seem...I dunno, chill." Nick laughed.

I laughed with him for a moment.

"I should get going, see you later?" I asked him.

"Sounds like a plan." He agreed.

I turned and left to get to my next class. I had most of my classes with Lex though which was lucky for us.

"Now more in depth, please explain who he was." Alexis laughed.

I rolled my eyes. "His name's Nick, he asked if it was okay to sit with me today because some group of people took his usual table...and if you don't mind, he'll probably continue sitting at our table." I explained to her as I set my bag down on the floor beside my chair.

"Ooh...Do you like him or something?" She teased.

"I can't like someone I just met." I laughed, causing her to laugh lightly.

"You can't predict the future." She defended.

"Neither can you!" I laughed.

Soon we had to quiet down for the lesson to start but Lex and I's conversation lurked in the back of my mind.

Nobody can tell the future.
