2 - So...Your Number?

Y/N POV

It was yet another long day of classes. Today felt different though, hopefully it's a good different. I got up from my bed and completed my morning routine early today, I had a whole half hour to myself before I had to leave. I glanced around my room and stopped to look at my computer. I walked over to my desk and sat down, starting the computer up and entering my minecraft world.

"I have some time to spare so why not." I mumbled to myself under my breath.

It was a survival world I had been working on for about a month now. I had already beaten the ender dragon so all that was left to really do on it was build and explore. I decided to expand on my house for the fun of it.

With what seemed like 5 seconds, it was time for me to get off of minecraft and get to class. I made it on time and headed to class. At my normal table I saw Alexis and Nick already sitting there. Lex had been doodling in her notebook while Nick was mainly on his phone.

I took my seat causing Nick to turn his phone off and put it away. Lex didn't look up from her doodle but she smiled a bit and said, "Hi," due to her focusing. "Morning!" Nick greeted me, happily.

"Morning." I replied, setting my bag down beside my chair like I always did.

Nick watched as I did so and he must have spotted the few pins I had pinned fast to the strap of my bag, since the next thing he said had pointed out one specific pin.

"You play minecraft?" He asked, with a slight smile on his face.

I was slightly worried that I was about to get made fun of but at the same time I didn't want to lie.

"Yeah, in my free time and stuff." I said trying to sound casual, like it was no big deal.

"Oh dude no way! I play too! We should play together sometime!" Nick exclaimed happily.

I sighed, being relieved that he wasn't going to make fun of me. That's when I realized he said he played too.

"Wait you play too?" I asked, excitedly.

"Yeah, a lot, actually. One of my friends has an SMP where a bunch of our friends go on and play whenever." He explained.

"Oh that sounds really fun!" I said, sounding interested.

"What's your gamer tag?" He asked me, handing me a piece of paper to write it down on.

I took the paper and grabbed my pen. I neatly wrote down my gamer tag and handed the paper back to him. "I can't wait." I said as I smiled at him.

The lecture started and I went to take notes in my notebook. There were multiple times when Nick and I would whisper to eachother about random things like what we did last night or even making up random scenarios about what we should do on minecraft when we actually play.

The teacher gave us a few warnings but we mostly dismissed it since we liked our conversation too much.

Soon the class ended and Lex smiled at me, "Talk to me about this later." She whispered in my ear as she walked past me. I dismissed it and rolled my eyes jokingly at the statement as I waited for Nick to gather his things to walk with me.

We exited the classroom together, continuing our previous conversations.

"I guess we should get to our next classes then?" I said, laughing a bit.

He frowned playfully, "Yeah, I guess we should."

"Don't be so upset!" I laughed, knowing he was only joking.

"Me and you, minecraft, tonight?" He asked as I was getting ready to walk away.

"Yeah, but we don't have a way to contact eachother outside of school." I said, sadly.

"I can fix that issue...So...What's your number?" He asked, smiling a bit, giving me a face full of hope that I'd give him my number, holding his phone out for me to take.

I smiled and took his phone, typing in my name and number, putting a smiley face beside my first name.

He smiled at me when I handed him his phone back, "I'll text you later tonight then." He told me, cheerfully.

I nodded happily and turned on my heel to leave Nick's side and go to my next class where Lex was already waiting for me to tell her what all of this meant.

"Well?" She asked me as I barely had time to set my bag down.

"We're just becoming close friends, that's all. And we may be playing minecraft together tonight." I said casually, as I get my notebook out of my bag.

"Awe...I'll make wedding arrangements!" Alexis cheered.

"Dude? We're JUST friends." I laughed.

"That's what YOU think." She defended.

I rolled my eyes and paid attention to the lecture. During the lesson I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket so I pulled it out to see a message from Nick.

"Heyyyy! It's Nick! I'm bored."

I rolled my eyes jokingly at the message sent him the eye roll emoji. I put my phone away and smiled. This is going to be so much fun.
