Alesha's P.O.V~
Luke and I entered the cafe, sitting down on the comfy seats. Mum was nowhere to be seen just yet. I scanned my eyes around the building, double checking.
"Where is she?" I ask Luke, nervously.
"I don't know" he replies, his hands in a fist, resting his chin against them.
I watch as the door opens letting in more people however, none of them were Mum.
🌸
Half an hour later and it was almost pitch black outside. Mum had still not come at all. We gave up waiting and walked out the door of the cafe.
The stars glistened in the midnight sky. I looked out into the distance, watching the world go by. I felt so annoyed with Mum. Why didn't she meet us?Walking a few yards closer to the flat, I felt a hand touch me on my shoulder. It felt big. Much bigger than Luke's. I spin around to see a dark skeleton shadow standing right behind me. I let out a small squeal as they grab my arm. I try to pull away, taking hold of Luke's hand.
All of a sudden, the shadow steps away a little, revealing itself.
"Jake?!" I scream, smacking his arm, hard.
"Why are you hear?" asks Luke, giving him a grim look.
"Couldn't see Mummy? Ahh, well I know shes still missing!" he cackles.
I clench my jaw, wanting to hit him straight in the mouth.
"Oh my god" I pause for a moment. "You wrote the letter didn't you?"
He smiles. His evil eyes staring right at me."How could you?! You selfish bastard! Why would you make me and my brother think Mum was seeing us?! I knew I could never trust you!"
I kicked and pushed as much as I could to try and hurt him. He deserved it.
Tears streamed down my face, my eyes stinging. He violently attacked me back, punching, scratching and kicking.
He took one big step back, stretching his arm behind him, making a fist. All I saw was his hand coming straight towards me, smacking my eye at a powerful speed. I stumbled back, Luke catching me as I fell. He swept me off my feet and into his arms.🌸
The next thing I knew, I was lying on the sofa in the flat, surrounded by my friends.
"Mum didn't write the letter" Luke explained to Calum and Abbie. "It was Jake, her ex. She never turned up."
"What?" says Calum, sounding worried. "So what happened to Ali?"
"She got in a fight with him, he punched her in the eye" said Luke, looking down at me.
"Oh my god" says Calum, his lips parting a little from shock. I sit up against the pillow, touching my eye gently.
"What happened?" I ask Luke, slightly confused.
"You were punched in the eye. Do you remember?"
"No, huh, what?"
"Come on Ali" says Calum, stroking my head gently. "Sit back down."
I slide back, my head sinking into the pillow. I touch my eye with the back of my thumb, letting out a little "ouch" as the pain tingles across the bruise."We will let you rest for a while, might heal the bruise a bit" says Calum, kissing me gently on the forehead.
"Get better" Abbie says, smiling at me.
The door shuts and I settle down to go to sleep. I carefully move the pillow away from my eye. Thoughts are whizzing around my brain about Mum. Where is she? A tiny tear hits the pillow as I curl up into a ball, silently crying.
🌸
