"Time is ticking sooooo slowly." I groan, sitting against the pretty wooden walls of the small room I was in. It was the summoning room, where you can first see your guardian. They usually appear in a sleeping state, calm and stoic. It is extremely rare to get one that's awake, and if you do, it's said that you can actually summon them. Or, Bring them to this realm.
No one really knew if it worked, as the government usually covers it, making the person disappear. And if they were asleep, you'd be given a 'animum vigilem' or 'spirit watcher' to watch over them, they'd keep you safe, but never usually fully woke up.
I think it's a 0.00001% chance to get a sleeping guardian, divided by about 1,000x and you have the likelihood of getting 2 guardians. Here's the statistics:
Angel: 100% chance
Devil/Demon: 75% chance
None: 50% chance
Fallen angel: 25% chance
Half-Breed: 0.1% chance
Stirring: 0.01% chance
Two: 0.001%
Awake: 0.00001%
Angel and Demon: 0.000001%
Two, awake: 0.0000001%
Angel, Demon, both awake: 0.00000001%
Half-breed, awake: Unknown.
My phone goes off in my pocket, buzzing against my thigh. 12:00. I straighten my hair and put my phone back in my pocket, standing straight and looking at the south wall. 12:01 a.m. A flash of white fills the room, temporarily blinding me.
Once I regain my vision, I look back to the wall, nothing... shit I think, it's a terrible thing to have no guardian past 16, it puts you in a lot of danger.
I fall to my knees, mortified. "Hey, Seth? What's that thing?" I look up after hearing a soft, masculine voice.
"That, Axis, is our way outta here." Hearing the second, gravely voice, I stand, mind reeling.
"Oh hey! It's that boy!" Axis, I assume, points a white silk-clad hand in my direction.
"Who?"
A sigh leaves Axis' lips, "The one who we are protecting."
