"When did you do all these?" She asked, surprised."While we were out. I wouldn't have been able to do it alone. Divija played a role here."
Bemused, she asked; " Divija?"
"Yes. I spoke to her over the phone and we were able to sort things out between us. We're cool now."
Adhika could not believe her ears. Sameer actually did that? For her sake? She was grateful. Very. "Have I told you how grateful I am to you today?"
"Have you?" Sameer placed a hand on his left cheek and pretended to be deep in thoughts. "I don't think so."
"Well, thank you. Thank you for today. It's been one of my best days for the longest time." She smiled.
Sameer cupped her face and looked right into her eyes. "This is me, making up for lost times. For the times I acted so foolishly. You didn't deserve that, so from now henceforth, this is the way it's always going to be for the both of us. I don't like it when we are distant. Next time you discover setting disturbing about me, I want you to walk up to me and confront me about it. What happened the last time was an embarrassing situation for me at the office."
Adhika lowered her head, guiltily.
"Now, I'm not blaming you for flaring up the way you did, because I'm the one to blame for that. Had I been more open to you, none of those things would have happened. I have put that behind me now and I also want you to do the same. God willing, I'm going to work hard. Really hard to be the best husband there is."
His words were all Adhika needed to reassure her that the future ahead of her was bright. She smiled and touched his hand on her cheek. "And I promise to try my best as well. I won't give up on us so easily."
Adhika meant every single word she uttered. She would fight the world to ensure their lovestory blossomed and for that to happen, she was willing to do anything. Moreover, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
Adhika couldn't connote what was going on in Sameer's mind, as he stared into her eyes in a somewhat loving manner. It almost made her believe he had fallen in love with her. Staring into his eyes made her feel at home. She was utterly mesmerised by his brown orbs, his finely shaped nose and those kissable lips—in a nutshell, he looked ravishing. She was tempted to make the first move, but for some inexplicable reason, her feet were glued to the floor.
Her heart almost leapt out of its constraints when he cupped her face again and leaned forward. He gave her a small smile—which she believed was a reasurring one, before placing his lips on hers in a slow, yet passionate kiss.
With the hopes of taking their relationship to new heights, she shut her eyes and allowed herself live in the moment, after all, it was the expectation she got into the marriage with.
Adhika gasped when Sameer all of a sudden, lifted her in his arms and shut the door with his foot.
She smiled when he began to advance to the bed, then wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her head in the crook.

Adhika couldn't bring herself to look way from her sleeping husband. He looked so cute while sleeping—almost like an adorable infant. She lifted a finger and traced it from his face, down to his hairy chest. The reality was right in front of her, but still, it was unbelievable to her. She wanted to believe his heart belonged to her, but she knew she would only be lying to herself. Though she could see and feel his love for her in his eyes, she wasn't convinced. At least, not just yet. The last thing she wanted, was jumping into conclusions and end up suffering the consequences. She wouldn't be able to bear the emotional trauma.
