Sameer
•
Sameer took a moment to analyze the voice in his mind again. It had to be a figment of his imagination. After everything that had transpired between the both of them, there was no where Aaliyah would be back into his life—standing inside his office.
"Aren't you going to even look at my face?"
Sameer shook his head in an attempt to make the sickening voice go away, but to his dismay, it got even louder.
"Is this how much you hate me?"
He question itself made Sameer gnash his teeth. Surely, he did hate her. He wished he could show her just how much. After causing him so much pain and disgrace, did she expect him to still like her? Then she must be delusional.
Sameer looked up and for the first time in so many months, his gaze met with the lady he used to love— the lady he would sacrifice the whole world for, without battling a lash. The lady he thought had his back the same way he did. The one person he had ever visioned to be the mother to his unborn children. The same person that made him look like a loser in the eyes of hundreds.
"Samee—"
"Don't!" He sprung up and pointed a finger at her warningly. "Don't you dare mention my name. What the hell are you doing here? Who let you in? Mrs. Mehra!"
"There's absolutely no need to shout. Your secretary allowed me in, because I told her you were expecting me and besides, it's not she doesn't know me."
Her explanation seemed to have only irked Sameer further. At that point, he was fighting against unleashing his inner beast. "Get the hell out, before I call security."
Instead of making a move, Aaliyah stood there and fixated her gaze in Sameer, seemingly seeking some kind of affectionate emotion from them.
"Believe me, I will." He added. It was obvious he could read through her demeanor. He knew exactly what was going on in her mind. Too bad, he wasn't a dullard to fall for any of that. Not anymore. He was wiser now. Experience had taught him better.
"You won't." The confidence in her tone was so thick. "You'd never do that to me."
"What do you want?" Sameer banged his fist on the table. "As you can see, I'm a very busy man. If you aren't here to discuss business, respect yourself and use the door. It's that simple."
Aaliyah's lips stretched into an unbelievable smile. She shook her head and leaned forward, placing both her hands on the desk. "You've really changed, Sameer." She stated.
Sameer huffed. Was she seriously acting clueless or plain stupid? Had she not been a lady, he would have punched her square on the face, perhaps, it would restore her lost memory.
"You're not the Sameer I used to know." She continued. "The Sameer I used to know would never scream at me. He will never talk to me so disrespectfully."
Sameer scoffed. "I would like to believe you're not stupid, but you're acting it. If your done with what you came to say, then leave. Thanks for your kind visit." Sarcasm dripped off his voice. "Mrs. Mehra! Mr. Mehra!!"
As expected, Mrs. Mehra rushed into the office, looking as nervous a stray kitten.
"Who gave you the permission to allow this woman into my office?" He queried; his voice affiliated with fury.
"I'm sorry, sir, I didn't want to, but s—"
"Sorry for yourself!" He raised his voice; clearly not interested in her excuse. She made a mistake and what he expected of her, was to own up.
