Part 7

"Your mom was amazing and she was everything I ever wanted and more. When you were born things changed and I didn't know how to handle it."
Getting up he walked to a bookshelf pulling something out.
"It started with her locking you in the room for hours on end and you were only a few weeks old. I started taking you with me wherever I went, I didn't want you getting hurt but I was too in love to leave her. But one day it was raining and she had been nicer to you so I was beginning to trust her, I think you were about 6 or 7 months at this point. I had only been gone for five minutes running to the store and when I got back.... it was like I couldn't recognize you. I thought you were dead. She had beat you so bad and you barely had made it through."
Handing me the paper in his hand I realized it was a photo of me in the hospital with tubes and bruises every where.
"Everyday I blamed myself, I knew what she was capable of but I was too in love to realize what was more important. She ended up with a felony and went to jail for 12 years with 5 years probation."
Wiping my eyes I looked up at him "where is she now?" Why I cared I don't know but I needed to know.
"She died 2 years after she got out she was really bad into drugs and ended up over dosing. One of my friends had reached out to me when they saw her picture in the newspaper asking for someone to come identify her." Handing me a crumbled up paper I saw her picture, this was the first time I was seeing her and I couldn't be more happy that I looked like my dad. She was gorgeous no doubt but I didn't want to look like someone that could so easily abuse their own child. Reaching over I hugged my dad, I think we both needed it.
"Dad, I love you and despite what you think you did amazing and I'm glad I had you."
Whipping his eyes he pulled me in tighter, "kiddo I love you but it's time to stop running. Pac told me what was going on and as unconventional as it is I've seen how Lee and Lucas are about you. Maybe give them a chance and stop running and fighting them every step of the way. Give them a shot and if it don't work cool wash yo hands of them but if you not gone give them a try stop stringing them along and cut all ties with them.... From yo face I can tell that's not what you want so start packing and take yo ass home tomorrow. You messing up my flow." With that my dad grabs the picture and newspaper clip and walks out. I think he was mostly kicking me out because he wanted alone time. I knew he never planned on telling me anything about her but I'm glad he did Rachel Adams had tried to kill me but my dad saved me.
I had just finished packing and booked my flight for in the morning. Going into my group text with Lee and Luca I told them to pick me up at the airport in the morning and we can go to brunch and talk.

I was heading to baggage claim and saw Luca standing there waiting for my stuff Lee must be in pick up waiting. Looking over at me Luca gives me a head nod and then grabs my bag rolling it towards me. Kissing my cheeks he grabs my hand and pulls me along. I decided to sit in the back cause I was still a little tired.
Looking back at me Lee speaks up, "we are going to have brunch at your place so we can have more privacy." Nodding my head I got ready to lay out when Luca got into the back with me and laid me across him. I had been ignoring both of them the entire time I was gone besides that phone call. Closing my eyes I thought about the conversation we were about to have.
Pulling into my driveway I sat up as Lucas got out to get my stuff Lee came around and picked me up. Letting him carry me inside I heard him talking to the person I'm assuming cooked while they went to get me. Taking me upstairs to the balcony seating he sat me down and kissed my forehead. Him and Lucas took a seat on each side of me and we began to eat in silence. Looking up I see them looking at each other so I decide to speak up.
"I'm sorry about the phone call. I shouldn't have done that but I needed the time and space."
Pausing I can tell the Lee really wanted to talk shit but he refrains himself.
"I was a bitch to y'all, like I know y'all won't say it because you guys don't wanna disrespect me but it's true. If known since we've started fucking that there could be feelings there but I didn't give two shits. I guess when we were in Vegas and the way y'all acted showed me how much you guys might actually like me."
Lucas speaks up first, "there isn't a might!" Looking at Lee I see that he's still containing his self.
"And I understand that and I want to apologize for not considering y'all but with me leaving I've had time to think things through and I think somethings need to change between whatever we have going on.
Lee starts laughing, "you got me fucked up if you think you bought to try and call this shit quits."
"What exactly would I be calling quits Lee? I don't recall being in a relationship. Did you ask me to be with you? Lucas?" Had they ass on mute I was trying to be nice but Lee be getting me tight sometimes. Like who the fuck are you to tell me what I can and can't do.
Grabbing the empty dishes I take them inside so I can calm my little ass down. I may be short but my attitude is mighty.
Hearing them walk into the kitchen I turn around from the sink.
"Look I don't wanna not be cool with y'all cause at the end of the day we are friends but at the same time neither one of y'all has asked me to be your girl so I think till we figure things out we should all take a step back." Walking up to me Lee nods his head, "you're right we didn't come correct and ask you. I think Lucas and I got ahead of ourselves, since we are with each other so much and on so many different levels I don't think it even crossed our minds to ask. So let's make this shit officials, will you let me trap you with a baby?" Pushing him away from me I rolled my eyes as he started laughing.
"No seriously forget what the asshole just said will you give this a chance and be our woman?" Looking at Lucas I see he's moved right next to us.
"Only cause your not an ass I'll give you a shot. You on the other hand gotta put more effort in to claim this and to get a piece of this ass again." Lee sucks his teeth and rolls his eyes.
"Now clean up my kitchen then get out I'm tired. See you in the morning babe so we can workout, Lee I guess you can join me an my man." Walking away I hear Lucas bust up laughing while Lee talks about how I got him fucked up. Shit let's just hope this goes well.
