The Change

At the castle Katsuki had gotten onto a boat along with his wife. It had headed out to sea and Katsuki was pacing back and forth. No sign of his daughter anywhere. He didn't understand, how far could this little girl though, but who was he kidding that was his daughter, which meant she could resist the cold waters as his mermaid blood allowed him to and she was a excellent swimmer. It didn't take her long to learn to swim when they allowed her to swim in the small lake that was in the town with them. They wanted to teach her so they did, but this wasn't enough for Katsumi.

She wanted to be in the ocean, she wanted to be swim the ocean. Something was pulling her towards her it. Her escaping and leaving the wall should have been the sign that he couldn't keep her in the castle wall. (Y/N) watched him pace back and forth. Even though it had been a few hours she knew he was worried about Overhaul getting to her first.

She didn't know how to comfort her husband or should I say anything when she tried, he would cheer up for a moment before going back to worrying, what could she say to ease his worries for good? There way nothing. Nothing at all. Overhaul could hurt their daughter, could kill her if he felt like it. She decided the best thing to do was to grab his hand, "Katsu..." She whispered, holding onto his hand, stoping him from pacing, "(Y/N) can't you fucking see it's my fault? If I fucking listened this wouldn't have happened. She deserved to know the truth, but instead I hid it like a idi-" Katsuki was cut off as (Y/N) kisses him to shut him up. It didn't take long for him to kiss back.

After a few moments the two separate, "Katsu I understand you are worried and blame yourself, but she is just doing what you did when you were young. I am sure our daughter is all right. Even if she does meet Overhaul I know our daughter will be ok. Have that faith alright?" Katsuki sighs, pulling his wife in for a hug, "I don't how I managed sixteen years without you, shitty girl." This causes (Y/N) to giggle as she hugs him, "Well you did, now let's just try to stay calm alright? We don't need you accidentally using your quirk." Katsuki rolled his eyes, "Oh be quiet."

(Y/N) spent the time on the boat keeping her husband calm and kept him from having a pity party, now with Katsumi she was still following the little shark. "Wait here angel face, I have to go get him." Katsumi nods and watches the shark dive under the water. After a few minutes a merman came up about the water, the small shake beside of him, "Angel face, meet the one and only... Overhaul."

"Oh, welcome, princess. Now before we continue on this let's go to my home." Katsumi looked at him confused, "It's under the water. How will I come with you?"

Overhaul chuckled, "Don't worry child I have a plan just for that." Overhaul pulled out a bottle and poured it on her head, causing a bubble to form around it, "There. Now you will be able to breathe under the water." Overhaul then dived under the water and Katsumi followed. Chronostasis stayed about water for a bit before following. Overhaul led the young princess to his lair, "Here we are, how about you sit on the ice couch over there while I get us something to eat. Although I am afraid all I have is a cold plate. Smelt-cicle? Kelp chip? Hush guppy?"

"Uh, no, thank you. I was hoping you could tell me about this pendant...why it has my name on it. My father wouldn't tell me. He just doesn't understand." Kastumi says, sitting on the couch while watching Overhaul, who was swimming around.

"Oh, you're not the only one with a parental figure who doesn't understand you. Believe me, I know just how you feel. Dear child, did you ever consider... that it has your name on it... because it has your destiny in it? Oh, deep down... you know you weren't meant to be a lowly human. What you are is something... far more enchanting." Overhaul then swam in front of the girl, he carefully took the locket and opened it.

"A mermaid? But it's not possible.

"Darling, anything's possible."

"You can turn me into a mermaid?"

"Piece of fish cake, honey."

"And skill and lots of luck.

Overhaul glared at Chronostasis who had mumbled that insulting line, before he smirked and swam over to a shelf, grabbing a black bottle that caused Chronostasis eyes to widen, "Shigaraki's magic? Where'd you get that?"

"I've been saving it for a special occasion. One drop of this and, bada-bing, bada-boom. You're in fin city."

"Really?" Katsumi asks excited, she couldn't believe her dream is about to come true. Overhaul swam over and sat beside Katsumi. He took off the lid to the bottle and carefully poured the potion into Katsumis leg. A purple cloud surrounded her legs, "Now go on my darling. Your destiny awaits you."

The bubble that was around her head popped, but she could still breathe which surprised her. Once the purple smoke disappeared her eyes widen. A orange tail with black and green marks was there instead of her legs, "I don't believe it! I'm a mermaid."

"Say it loud, say it proud!"

"I'm a mermaid!" The girl tried swimming around, which was hard for her as she wasn't used to swimming with a tail. Chronostasis swam over to overhaul and whispered, "You had that all along. You coulda changed me back. Why, I oughta..."

"Keep your scales on, small fry. I'm still reeling her in." Chronostasis and Overhaul watch the princess try to swim around the best she can.

Back at the castle Bakugou and (Y/N) were still in the ship. During the time Katsumi was getting her tail, king Masaru had arrived at the castle. He was using his magic to be able to talk to his son and daughter-in-law. "Old man, I am so fucking worried. I don't know what we are gonna do."

"Everything's going to be all right, Katsuki. We have search parties scouring the ocean. I'm going to join them now myself."

(Y/N) listened and got a idea. Sure she would be lonely without her explosive husband, but she knew this was the best idea, "Katsu, you should, maybe you should go with him."

Katsuki looked at his wife surprised, "But, (Y/N)..."

"I need to stay here and lead the search on land. But you know these waters... and you know our daughter. You have to go." She places a hand on his cheek. Katsuki leaned into the touch. He knew his wife was right.

"It may be dangerous." The king says, watching the two.

"(Y/N)'s right, old man. I should have known I couldn't keep Katsumi from the sea. It's a part of her. And a part of me. I have to go." He looks at his father before looking back at wife, giving her a quick kiss.

"Bring her home."

"I will." Katsuki climbs onto the railing of the ship, his father, gripping his titan pointed it at his son, it glowed, a yellow stream of magic surrounded Katsuki causing his clothes and legs to disappear. His orange tale with the black stripes appeared. (Y/N) smiled as she saw her husbands tail. It had been a long time since she had scene it. She watched as her husband dived into the water. King Masaru follows after his son and enters the water. (Y/N) soon looks up at the sky, "Please let them be safe...please let them come home.." She whispers, hoping both would come home without much injury or issue.
