The board meeting went well, of course after we got over the awkward beginning, all the members finally started to see that I really was there to try and help them.

I end up leaving the office later than I expected but I am grateful that Emily didn't mind watching Sebastian for a little longer.

"So how did it go?" she asks me while we sit at the breakfast bar of her and Robert's apartment, eating dinner with Sebastian eating happily beside me.

"It went well, except for the beginning of the meeting. They weren't really happy to see Tristian's cheating ex-wife." I say taking a drink of my wine.

She rolls her eyes, "Men, they always have to stick together. But they ended putting all of that aside right? I mean this is business not personal."

"Thats exactly what I told them, and it also did help to show them the financial growth of my uncle's company since I started working there."

"Well numbers don't lie and I know they aren't stupid enough to turn away anyone that wants to help especially since you aren't even charging them anything for the help. Which by the way I think is a very dumb decision." she says raising an eyebrow my way.

I just shrug, "I know, I know, my friend Hannah said the same thing, but I don't really care about the money you know that. I'm doing it more for Sebastian," I look toward my son who is happily eating his dinner, "Like it or not he is Tristan's son and that company's will eventually be a big part of his future. Even if he only gets my share."

" I know, I get it. But still, I would've charged them so damn much." she says taking a drink from her wine.

After dinner I help Emily clean up and, I pick up Sebastian say goodnight heading towards my hotel for the night.

The next day is just spent with Sebastian in our hotel room playing games, and it gets me thinking that if it takes a long time to help the company out it will be better to rent an apartment rather than pay for a hotel.

By the time Friday morning comes I am a big ball of nerves just thinking that today is the day that I have to face Tristan and also my parents. And it's also the day he will see his son for the first time.

I wake up semi early and have breakfast later toward the evening I get Sebastian ready and then get ready myself, and for some dumb reason I change my outfit like four times until I finally decided on a nice dress tight fitting black dress. I try not to think about the reason as to why I'm so concerned about my appearance as I grab Seb and head toward Emily's rehearsal dinner.

When I got there I looked around to the cars already there and noticed my parents car parked a few spaces away from mine.

Taking a deep breath and took Sebastian out of the car and made my way inside.

"Mamma per quanto tempo dobbiamo restare?" Sebastian asked as we made our way inside.

"A couple of hours baby, remember that you are going to bring the rings to Emily and Robert when they get married. We have to be here to practice, okay baby?" I answer him picking him up and placing him on my hip.

I square off my shoulders holding my head high and make my way inside, I will not let anyone make me feel bad today especially not in front of my son.

As soon as I get inside I notice three pairs of eyes shoot straight towards me and then go to Sebastian, so I hold him a little bit closer to me and look straight at them.

Tristan that is standing close to Robert just stares right at Sebastian shocked, and I'm sure I know why. Sebastian is the exact copy of his father at this age.

My parents also looked shocked I don't think they really expected me to show up they probably thought I would be too ashamed to show my face, but they are so wrong I have nothing to be ashamed of.

We are pulled out of our little stare off when I hear Courtney,Tristan's sister, shout my name and come running towards me and Sebastian.

"Evie! Sebbie!" She comes towards us with a big smile on her face excited to see us.

"Courtney I'm so glad to you're here." I greet her with a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Say hi to your auntie Seb." I say to my son.

"Hi auntie!" Sebastian says enthusiastic holding his arms out. He hasn't seen Courtney in three months and he has missed her.

"How's my favorite nephew?" she asks giving his cheek a kiss.

"I missed you auntie." he says hugging her close.

I was so caught up in our little moment with Courtney that I didn't notice Tristan had walked up to us until he cleared his throat.

We all turn to him with Courtney still holding Seb, at first we don't anything for a couple of seconds while he just stares at his son.

Until I clear my throat, "Is there something you need?" I ask my voice clear of any emotion.

Hearing my voice breaks him out of his trance state and he finally looks at me, well more like glares at me and then Courtney.

"What the hell is going on here?" he growls out looking between the both of us, but before we can answer Sebastian responds.

"Why are you being mean to my mommy and auntie?" he asks innocently.

That makes Tristan hesitate not knowing how to answer.

"Um you too obviously need to talk, I'll take Sebastian and go find Emily." Courtney says and makes a quick retreat before I can even say anything.

"Sebastian." I hear Tristan murmur to himself as we watch them leave.

As soon as they are out of hearing range I speak, "Don't ever speak to me that way in front of my son, do you understand me?"

He looks at me shocked, and I know exactly why, I have never spoken to him in that manner before.

He gets over the shock and glares at me, "Well that's my reaction when I see my sister not only greet you so warmly, but has him call her aunt."

"Courtney is his aunt, she was there when he was born, and has been there since then."

"She's my sister, her loyalty should be to her family." he seethes.

"He is her family!" I answer back.

"We don't know that!"

"You've just seen his face! If you still have any doubts then you truly are blind or just in denial! Or maybe you just don't want to admit you where wrong!" I bite back.

"She is still my sister! She should've had her family's back! Not believed the words of some whor-" I cut him off with a slap.

"Don't ever disrespect me like that ever again! I might have let that shit go back then, but not anymore. I won't tolerate any disrespect from you or anyone else."

He's about to respond but my parents appear right beside him my father putting a hand on his shoulder in a comforting way.

"You are causing a scene. Perhaps you should have this conversation another day." my mother says looking between the both of us.

I look around noticing there several people looking in our direction.

"Come Evelyn, let's go outside." she grabs my wrist trying to guide me outside.

But before she can even take a step I pull out of her grasp, "Don't touch me, and I'm not going outside. I'm going to find my son and best friend, excuse me." I say and begin to walk away.

"This conversation isn't over Evelyn." Tristan calls out behind me.

Not it isn't.
