"Dad, trust me, I'm not getting shitfaced every night," Felix laughed through his phone. Jisung was absorbed in the subtitled English movie that was on, but still laughed since Felix told him what shitfaced meant and Jisung knew he had gotten hammered at least once. "I've actually learned a lot of Korean and I'm perfecting my technique. I know that's not what you wanna hear but at least I'm minoring in Art as you told me."
"I know, son. I'm proud of you, but truly how much money are you gonna make dancing?-"
"Aaand it's my turn with the phone," Felix's mother interjected, making Felix giggle at his parents' shenanigans. "Anyways, did ya get a job yet, Lixie?"
Ever since Felix started speaking Korean, his mom has tried to make more of an effort to integrate it into conversations. It was almost like bonding. "Yep. My friend Hyunjin and I both work as dance assistants. It pays pretty well," Felix claimed proudly. Jisung turning his attention from the younger's TV, sitting up and smiling at the mention of their mutual friend.
"Tell your mom I said hiiii~," Jisung begged, Felix scoffing. His mom asked why he scoffed and Felix scratched the back of his neck, realizing that he never really introduced his parents to any of his new friends. It's not that they were bad people, it's just every time Felix had to introduce someone he knew to his family, he'd get anxious about getting judged.
"I'm at my dorm with my friend Jisung. He says hi," Felix groaned. His mom laughed on the other end, Jisung cheering loudly in the background. And at that moment, Chris entered the dorm with his backpack and a tired look in his eyes. "Oh, and Chris just got here so that's cool." Felix put his phone on speaker.
"Oh, well hi Chris and nice to meet you, Jisung," the youngest's mother greeted, making Chris smile as Jisung's eyes lit up. The two Australians both knew that Jisung, along with the rest of their group, knew and picked up on quite a bit of English, so it didn't surprise them once Jisung tackled Felix in happiness.
"SHE SAID IT'S NICE TO MEET ME, LIX. I'M HER FAVOURITE," Jisung screeched, quickly stealing his twin's phone and holding it up high while pinning Felix down. "Hello, Mrs. Lee. It's nice to meet you, too. Is my English good?" Jisung spoke, accented and clearly rehearsed. Felix smiled and fought to try and grab his phone back, but Jisung just kept his knee on his chest to keep him down. He could hear his mom laugh on the other end, though, so Felix didn't care as much.
Felix eventually fell down in defeat, looking over to see Chris looking... not as happy as he initially thought. His smile had disappeared and his eyes held no emotion, just fatigue. The oldest threw his backpack on his bed and threw himself after it. Felix felt puzzled, not knowing what happened to the cheerier mood they put him in seconds before.
"Hi, Mrs. Lee. It's Chris, and your son hasn't killed anyone yet," Chris called up to the phone from his spot on his bed. Felix snickered and Jisung handed his phone back to it's owner, finally getting off of Felix.
"Well, sweetie, I gotta head to a meeting in a second. Your dad and I love you!~" his mom sang, making Felix smile at her sweetness. His parents were always authoritarian, but his mom still took on more of a caring and nurturing roll. "Remember to get sleep, honey. I know you don't."
"Okay, mom. I love you guys too. Tell everyone back there that I miss them," Felix ended, eventually hanging up on his mom and being met with his homescreen. '10:49pm... damn it's early as fuck,' Felix thought, turning to his two friends. Jisung hopped up and grabbed his wallet off the roommates' counter.
