After this cute interaction with ARMY it was time to leave. Jungkook spotted Dahyun near the exit. She was laughing and talking to her teammates. To win some time, because he still felt embarrassed, he went to the other side of the stage and waved to the people on that side of the audience without even knowing which fandom they belonged to. Then he slowly turned back and walked to the exit after making sure Dahyun was gone. Jungkook didn't know what exactly had happened on the stage but he didn't want to think of it either. It was just an embarrassing moment that would not happen again. Eye contacts always happened between male and female idols, so it was not a big deal. 
Jungkook went down the stairs to walk to the waiting room. He was exhausted and wanted to head home as soon as possible.

Two days later it was the day of KBS Daejukjae 2020. All artists were waiting in their own waiting rooms. Jungkook was sitting on the couch and was busy playing a game on his phone. Taehyung was sitting next to him and was playing the same game as his teammate. Jimin was watching them from behind. The staff entered the room and told them to get ready in ten minutes for the rehearsal. KBS prepared a song for the festival that would be performed by all artists. Jungkook and Taehyung finished the last round and logged out of the game. Before leaving the room, Jungkook checked his appearance in the mirror. He was wearing white sneakers, black baggy pants and a black baggy T-shirt. His outfit looked comfortable but not shabby. His wavy hair looked unkempt but trendy. This hairstyle looked actually good on him. 

In the hallway all artists were coming out of their waiting rooms and heading to the stage. Jungkook saw his friends from Seventeen, Got7, Astro and Nct. He greeted them with "Hi"s and, if they were far afar, with a smile and a nod. Since the hallway was crowded with artists, managers, stylists and staff, everyone was either making way to each other or had no choice but walk side by side. Girl group members, boy group members, labelmates, friends, everyone got to meet and greet each other. When Jungkook spotted the TWICE members, he suddenly felt the urge to turn away his head and walk from a distance. He was still feeling uncomfortable from the last time and didn't want Dahyun to get any wrong ideas of him.

When they arrived backstage, all groups were on standby. The rehearsal began and artists were announced on stage. The arena had a slightly cold temperature, so Yoongi was feeling cold and Jimin hugged him tightly. Namjoon was jumping with Seokjin in their place to warm up. Taehyung was busy talking to Exo's Baekhyun. Hoseok was just waiting while listening to Yoongi, who was telling him a funny story about his father. Jungkook was listening too but his eyes kept moving to the background, behind Yoongi's back. He saw Dahyun standing with her members. She had white converse shoes, high-waist grey baggy pants, that was rolled up on one leg, and a baggy white T-shirt. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun. She had no makeup but her face still looked lively and stunning. During the wait, she was talking to other artists and seemed to have fun. Jungkook could see her smile and hear her laughter. Judging from her not looking to his side, Jungkook assumed that she wasn't bothered by him, probably even forgot about the eye contact. He felt relieved. Suddenly Jungkook wondered why he was bothered by this so much?

The staff gave the cue. The song started playing and everyone focused on singing their parts.

The rehearsal came to an end, everyone left the stage and headed back to their waiting rooms. BTS always had fun and enjoyed their rehearsal times, even more when they rehearsed with their labelmates TXT, who had shyly watched them first but then got dragged in by BTS to join the fun. But sometimes rehearsals would become not so comfortable when they were with other artists. Jungkook had noticed that the Momoland member's eyes were on him again but he didn't give her any attention. Things like this didn't bother him but he didn't like it either to be pulled into things he wasn't interested in. Jungkook knew there were fans, who would ship idols with each other, sometimes even with their own teammates, which was more tragic. He didn't want to see himself in fictional relationships because he knew the other part might be aware of that too. Then seeing each other on events like this would become even more uncomfortable. That's why Jungkook preferred to avoid any interactions with other girl group idols that might get interpreted falsely by fans.
