                                                   Believe It Or Not...   

I felt like someone had slapped me hard in my face and woken me up from a beautiful dream .

"Cat got your tongue , Ian? "

"Listen , Liam . I'll just call you back in five minutes . " I hung up .

I needed time to cope with a delicate situation such as this . I couldn't exactly go like , "Oh , by the way , Liam , Yukiko is cheating on me with you . So let's both of us break up with her . Merry christmas." 

If I was in Liam's place and he would have said the same to me , well , let's just say that his family would be attending his funeral the next day . 

For a minute or two , I just paced back and forth in confusion . Then I called up Yukiko .

' This number is currently switched off . Please try again later . '

Of course . How could I be such an idiot ?  Yukiko was in her flight . How could she possibly have her mobile switched on ?

My computer was still switched on . I logged into my facebook account and decided to send a message to Yukiko to call me as soon as she would reach Sydney . Yukiko's phone was linked to her account . So , she would get my message as soon as she would switch it on.

I typed in the 'To' field of the message- 'Y' . It displayed plenty of results . I continued - 'u' . No result .

What?

I searched in my friend list .

No Yukiko.

I checked my relationship status .

'In a relationship with Yukiko Akimoto .'

But her name was no more a link to which you would be redirected .

I remember how last night she was up till late , wishing all her friends good luck for their life ahead . I told her to sleep but she said that she would be up late and instead , told me to go and sleep , which I did , like an obedient child.

Earlier I was confused about why she was sending these messages to her friends. But now I knew why  . 

She had deactivated her account.

"Hello , Liam?"

"Yes , big guy . Why did you hang up all of a sudden ? "

"Umm.. I really do not know how to say this ... but..."

"Whoa ... You sound like you're about to ask me out . "

"Oh , shut up , will you ? Well, Yukiko is cheating on you . "

"Hey , hey , now , hold it right there . Just because she cheated on me once with that Rio guy doesnot mean she'll do it all the time . And anyway , I agree Yukiko travels a lot ... but as far as I know Rio has stayed in Sydney all his life . How come you know about them ? "

"You mean there is a third one ? "

"There was , three months back , " he said , emphasising  on ' was ' . But there was an element of uncertainty in his voice .

Three months back , I wondered . Yukiko was dating me too at that time .

He nearly screamed , "And what do you mean - a third one ?"This time he emphasised on 'third.'

He continued , " If I am the first one and you're calling Rio the third , then who's the second ?"

"How long have you been dating her? " I enquired.

" Eleven months ," he announced proudly.

"Well , then , there is a correction . Rio's the third , you're the second and-"

"Who's the first?"

"It's me , " I said. " Believe it or not."
