Imogen sat curling her hair into loose bangs. Whilst she put on her makeup she watched Jordan dress. He was wearing some black slim fit trousers that framed his perfect ass. He wore a grey shirt, black vest and the Louboutin boots Imogen had got him along with, a silver Cartier watch.
Imogen wore a black play suit with a gold chain belt. She wore here diamond earrings Jordan had bought her along with some Louboutins patent black stilettos with ankle cuffs on them. They packed the car and headed off to Essex. All through the journey Imogen found herself gazing at her ring.
He smiled "do I take it you like the ring?"
"Oh my gosh are you kidding , I love it. I just still can't quite believe it"
He put his hand on her thigh "well believe it baby we are getting married"
"Don't my head is blown thinking about being engaged"
"You do know weddings usually follow engagements?" He teased
"I know that but since we are less than 24 hours into said engagement, we've hardly had time to discuss anything"
"Well let's discuss it, you know that's all people are going to be asking, let's give them an answer"
"Wow you're keen. That's normally a girls job" she laughed
"Having you as my fiancée is amazing, having you as my wife, is gonna be off the scale. I just think if we're gonna do it, let's do it"
"You're being serious aren't you?"
"Yeah of course"
"These things aren't arranged overnight"
"I know but, all the more reason to get dates locked in. I know girls have all this figured out."
"Every girl wants the fairytale. You're my fairytale so I have that covered.
He kissed her hand "you must have had something in mind?"
"The childhood dream wedding? Just all the usual, unicorns and Cinderella dress. Now though, I'd be happy with a intimate kind of day"
He laughed "have you seen the size of my family?"
"I know about that, I just mean no big grand gestures with castles, wedding cakes as big as a castle. Like wedding vomit"
He laughed again "wedding vomit, that's a new one"
"You see so many girls in dresses that they can't walk in because they're too heavy with 20 bridesmaids and groomsmen"
"Oh that wedding vomit" he teased "so tell me about your ideal wedding?"
She frowned "you know a wedding consists of 2 people getting married?"
"No really"
She hit him in the arm "I mean it's about both of us. It's not MY wedding"
"I've done this before, I'm happy to go along with what you want."
"You know I'd be happy at home. The views of the bay as the backdrop and a marquee."
"Wow not what I was expecting but I like that"
"You do?" She smiled
"Yeah of course. It makes sense"
She smiled. "I can get creative with that"
"Well let's do it."
"When?"
"Whenever we can get it all locked in"
She clapped her hands "are we done with shocks now, I don't think I could handle another"
Imogen was in deep thought about the wedding when Leila FaceTimed.
Imogen smiled "it's Leila can I tell her our news!"
He frowned "yes of course, I'm surprised you didn't already"
She picked up. "Hey leis Merry Christmas"
"Merry Christmas" Jordan shouted
She laughed "Aw Merry Christmas to you as well"
"Are you on your way to Jon's?"
""Yeah we're about 20 minutes away" Imogen replied
"Ok. So did Santa drop by?" Leila asked
Imogen looked at Jordan and moved in towards him so Leila could see them both and held her hand up"
The shock of Leila's face was a picture.
"Holy shit, are you engaged? That's an engagement ring right? I can't see it I'm currently being dazzled"
"We are engaged" both screamed with excitement. Jordan flinched at the noise
"Oh my god I'm so happy for you both. When did this happen?"
"Last night. Jordan had Aaron film it, I'll send you a copy"
"Ok but tell me anyway"
Imogen told her what happened
"Hey Jordan?"
"Yeah" he said
"Big kudos, that sounds epic"
"Thanks leis" he said
"Have you told the family?" Leila asked
"I'm telling you now but, the rest of the family, not yet. Jordan spoke to the boys about it, he wanted to make sure they were ok with it. They went with him to choose the ring"
"Aw that's sweet" Leila said
"Yeah. It means a lot to have them do that"
"How's your Christmas going?"
Leila smiled "it's quiet but nice. Devon is spoiling me. He got me a Chanel watch id seen a while back so, I got that"
"Nice. Did he like his gift"
"Yeah. He has no clue that the golf clubs were my way of having me time"
Imogen laughed "you're a very resourceful yet, cunning woman"
Leila laughed, "yeah I know. Hey but never mind that tell me about your plans. Do you remember that file you had when we were like 8 or 9?"
Imogen laughed as the memory came flooding back. Jordan looked her her curiously.
"The file she is referring to was one I made. It was around the time of princess Diana's wedding. I was completely in love with her dress and that huge train she had. It was like a real life fairytale with, queens and castles."
"She was obsessed Jordan" Leila continued "it had different designs and even material swatches"
Jordan laughed and rested his hand on her lap,
"Aw baby that's so sweet"
"The swatches were hardly anything elaborate, it was paper doilies or old lace curtains my mom was throwing away"
"Yes!" Leila shouted "oh my god yes. I remember that. You used a headband and cut out pieces of kitchen foil to make diamonds. Oh Imogen the beads too. Do you remember, your mom was all kinds of angry with you"
"What happened?" Jordan asked
Imogen rolled her eyes,
"I took a beaded string necklace of my moms. I'd bought it her one Christmas from a jumble sale. It cost me 50 pence back then, you could buy a lot with 50 pence but, I used it to get this necklace. I thought it would make her like me a bit more"
Jordan rubbed his thumb over her leg and smiled sympathetically.
Imogen shrugged with a tinge of sorrow,
"Surprise surprise she held it up with a look of distaste and said 'oh plastic beads really aren't something I'd wear but thank you anyway'. She tossed them onto the table like they were dirt"
She looked thoughtfully out of the window remembering how sad she was. Her dad glared at her mom with rage. They argued that day about it. It was one of the only times dad really got angry. She took a heavy sigh,
"Well I figured if she didn't want them, I'd use them to something that did make me happy, the veil. She didn't even know I'd taken them until one day, I'd not heard mom call for dinner so she came storming into my bedroom. I was sewing  them individually onto the lace curtain come veil. She screamed and shout until I thought she'd combust! At 8 years old, I used all the rage I had and shouted back. She was shocked but didn't stay anything. No come back, nothing. That was the day I learnt to stand up to her."
There was silence, nobody knew how to follow it for a few moments until Leila said cheerily
"You won the best costume though at the school end of year party. It was for the best memory you had of the year."
Imogen smiled as she remembered.
"You have a very clever fiancée Jordan, miss school yard sales person got so much attention, she was charging 10 pence per girl to wear the veil once around the school courtyard."
Imogen burst out laughing
"I made £3.20 over the course of the week. It would have been more if Mandy singleton hadn't have stolen 10 pence from her moms purse. She had to tell her mom why and she went in and told Mrs Mcvee. My business was shut down. We did blow the whole amount on snacks for a sleepover at leilas house though"
"Anyway this file had everything in it to the smallest detail. Maybe you should do something again ims?"
Imogen giggled
"Stop teasing"
Leila sighed dramatically
"Ok. Well look you pair I'm going to go but I'll call you tomorrow ok?"
"Bye leis" Jordan shouted
"Ok, enjoy your day wish Devon a merry Christmas to. Love you leis, bye"
