The soft breeze was sothing and calming in a strange wayshinki was normaly not the type to be sentimental
he was cold and calculative in all he did
he was proud and always takes the action that would bring pride to suna
but somehow, today he could not bring himself to put up the cold wall around him even his iron sands were not enough berrier today
the bright rays of sunlight streamed down over the vast garden of flowers creating a charming aura
this garden had been a gift from his adoptive father
gaara was aware of his love for flowers and being the busy person he was did not have as much time as he wanted to with his three adopted kids
so giving them everything they desired was the least he could do right
it was highly considerate for his father to have gone through so much effort for them
and it was highly appreciated even if his pride worn't let it out
but it seemed even his garden wasn't enough to smoothen his mood today
he did not get it
could it be that he was forgetting something
it was not like him at all
" is something wrong"
shinki did not even bother looking behind him to know who it was
he had felt her presence even from a mile away
" mind your business yodo"
she tsked, walking in front of him blocking his view
" your my brother so obvousely you being like this is my business"
shinki glared at her
yodo shivered slightly at the cold glare he was giving her
" when i tell you to mind your business, i expect you to mind your business"
shinki let his eyes close signaling that whatever conversation they were having was over
yodo sighed
her brother was realy something, she knew something was wrong with him heck it was so obviouse
he had been acting strange and it was so unlike him
sometimes he would suddenly go quite and lock himself in the his garden for hours on end
shinki was not realy one to talk much, he was rather reserved
but not this much, even that glint in his eyes the one he had whenever he thinks he has found a formidable opponent was missing
and all this strangness had started since they came back from konoha for the chunin exams
that was four years ago
that was way before konoha had sent her cousin along with the other four clans of konoha away
speaking of her cousin, she heared from uncle konkouro that he was back from training
it had come as a surprise to them when they heared the leafe decision regarding the attack at the chunin exams
she had found it unreasonable that konoha would send out a bunch of children to who knows where
but it wasn't her choice to make anyway, if konoha thought it was the best choice to make then who was she to say otherwise
besides as much as she hated to admit it, those kids were strong
her cousin had actualy managed to eliminate her and that one akimachi girl what was her name...ho chocho had putting up a fight against shinki, she could remember the look on his face when the girl had managed to land a killer blow on him
ofcourse he had won at the end, but she could have sworn she saw him stealing glances towards her afterwards
she normaly just brushed it off, but she could not help but think otherwise the day they recieved news from konoha
she could hardly getover the dissapointment on his face but it was gone as fast as it came
now that she thought well over it, it made so much sense now· but just to be sure
she grinned mischievously
" shinki?"
he glared at her
she took out her ear plugs
" you know akimachi chocho?"
his breath hitched
she smiled wickedly
he missed a heartbeat· she knew it!
" YODO"
she dashed towards the exit but not before muttering loud enough for him to hear
" i heared uncle konkouro say that they are back, father said were going to konoha to visit aunt tamari tomorrow, get ready~"
shinki froze
' they are back? even...that person'
after four years
he was going to see her again
