Y/N's P.O.V.
The lock clicked on the door and I frowned, not approving on Five's plan to scare Vanya.
The room was pitch black until the door opened, revealing a small amount of light and a single silhouette. Five turned on the lamp and Vanya jumped."Jesus!" She glared at us and Five smirked a little.
"You should have locks on your windows." Five mused and I rolled my eyes. We didn't even come in thought the window, Five spacial jumped us in here.
"I live on the second floor." Vanya said in shock.
"Rapists can climb." Five shrugged and I looked at him in confusion.
"What?" I asked and he looked at me for half a second, before looking at his sister again.
"You are so weird." Vanya muttered, closing the door. She sat down next to me on the couch and looked at us both. She looked down at my arm and then at Five's collar.
"Is that blood?""It's nothing." Five and I said in unison. Honestly, I was pretty sure the blood on his collar didn't belong to Five.
"Why are you here?" Vanya asked.
"Both of you?""I've decided you're the only one we can trust." Five sighed.
"Why me?" Vanya asked, sounding confused.
"Because you're ordinary." Five spoke and I kicked him in the shin, earning a glare.
"Because you'll listen." Five corrected himself and I smiled at him."Okay." Vanya stood up and walked out of the room and Five looked a little confused, but she came back a minute or so later with hydrogen peroxide and cotton pads.
She sat down next to me and I reluctantly rolled up my sleeve and let her clean the small cut."When I jumped forward and got stuck in the future, do you know what I found?" Five asked as she wiped the cut.
"No." She whispered and moved to clean Five's cut.
"Nothing. Absolutely nothing." Five muttered.
"As far as I could tell, I was the last person left alive. I never found out what killed the human race, but I did find something else. The date it happens." Five looked down at the floor.
"The world ends in 8 days and I have no idea how to stop it.""I'll put on a pot of coffee." Vanya whispered, leaving the room once more. She came back a few minutes later with a tray and three cups. She handed a cup to both us us and I thanked her quietly.
"Okay...""I jumped to the future. I survived on scraps. Canned food, cockroaches, anything I could find. You know that rumour that Twinkies have an unlimited shelf life? Well, it's total bullshit." Five sighed.
"I can't even imagine." Vanya muttered.
"You do what it takes to survive, or you die. So I adapted, whatever the world threw at me, I found a way to overcome it." Five looked at the floor once again and I turned to Vanya.
"Have you got anything stronger?" I put my cup down and she got up once more.
"Five, you okay?""No, but I've already started telling the story now, I can't just stop." He murmured and I frowned. Vanya stood in the doorway with two glasses filled with a dark liquid and Five stood up, going over to her. He took the glasses and handed one to me as I followed.
"You think I'm crazy.""No, I-" Vanya stammered.
"It's just- it's a lot to take in.""Exactly what don't you understand?" Five asked a little aggressively.
"Why didn't you just time travel back?" Vanya asked and Five scoffed.
"Gee, wish I'd thought of that." He deadpanned.
"Time travel is a crapshoot. I went into the ice and never acorn-ed. You think I didn't try and get back to my family?""I You grew old there, you know, in the apocalypse, how come you still look like a kid?" Vanya questioned.
"I told you already. I must have got the equations wrong." Oh, Five, if only someone told you to double check them, oh wait, I did.
Five moved past her to top up his glass and I took a drink of the alcoholic liquid."I mean, dad always used to say that... time travel could mess up your mind." Vanya muttered.
"Maybe that's what's happening?""Then how the Hell is Y/N here? How did we meet?" Five glared at her.
"Five, come on, calm down a little." I sighed, putting my glass down.
"This was a mistake." Five shook his head.
"You're too young. Too naive to understand. Y/N-""No, Five. Five wait." Vanya called and he stopped by the door.
"I haven't seen you in a long time and I don't want to lose you again. That's all. And you know what, it's getting late. I have lessons early and I need to sleep, I'm sure you two do, too." She moved over to the couch and grabbed a blanket.
"Here. We'll talk in the morning again. Okay? I promise.""She's right, you need sleep, we all do." I spoke softly, looking at him.
"Come on." He reluctantly nodded his head and Vanya gave me a small smile."Night." She walked to the end of the hall and closed the door behind her, Five looking at me sadly.
"Y/N we don't have time-"
"Five, listen to me. We're going to fix everything, okay? We'll save the goddamn world, but we can't do that if you're sleep deprived. Just a few hours, please." I offered him my hand and he took it, letting me pull him over to the couch. We kicked off our shoes and Five took off his blazer. I sat down on the sofa and Five sat next to me, wrapping his arms around me and putting his head on my shoulder. I rested my head on top of his and within minutes I was asleep.
