I blink, looking around as my vision clears.

Hmm... strange.

Last thing I knew I fainted in Meli's arms, god that sounds so wrong, and now I'm here. Must be my astral teleportation playing up again.

No shit, Sherlock, the demon side of me says. Wait... who's Sherlock?

"U...um, excuse me, Miss?" I hear a voice say. I turn to see a human man, who's shivering.

"Oh! Sorry." I apologise, hopping off the bench. "I'm not completely sure why I'm here, but I do know that I can't go back at the moment, see?" I lift my hand up, trying to grab a bar stool, but my hand just passes straight through it.

The man pales even more, if possible, and collapses to the ground. I sigh, before casting Wrath of the Tidal Waves and splashing his face with water.

Hmm, my power seems to be a lot weaker in astral form, plus it hasn't completely come back yet. Normally, that would have swept him out of this cave, at the very least.

Eventually, the man sits up, rubbing his eyes, and looks at me.

"Um... sorry, Miss, but who are you?"

"Fairy Queen Genesia."

The man looks at me, shocked, before hurriedly getting up and bowing.

"Sorry, Your Majesty!" he exclaims, before I wave my hand non-hurriedly at him.

"It's fine, it's fine! Besides, I haven't been a Queen for 3000 years."

"3...3000 years?!"

I nod, before we engage in random conversation for a while, my body slowly gaining more physical nature, little by little.

*Time skip brought to you by Melascula eating souls*

Suddenly, I hear a bang, and I put down my cards, sensing a familiar magical power.

"I heard something; I'll be right back." I tell the man, whose name, according to him, is Escanor.

I head outside, to see Elaine, and... two humans?

I shrug my shoulders, lifting them all easily and carrying them inside.

"Hey, Elaine." I greet my friend happily. "Is this the Ban you spoke of?"

She nods tiredly, and it's only then that I sense the familiar energies following them.

"Oh no." I hiss under my breath, before pushing them all into the storage room. They'll know where Elaine and the others are, but it'll have to do for now.

Escanor's eyes suddenly widen, and I realise that he knows one or more of the humans.

"I'm sorry, Escanor, but your friends will have to wait. There are people after them, and they're not exactly human."

Escanor nods, shivering, and I hear a bang.

Just wonderful.

My now almost physical body hides behind the bar, and I decide to just wait them out.

"Eeep!" Escanor yells.

"They're not here?" Galand observes, Melascula close behind him.

"I smell it... I smell it!" Galand yells, and I freeze.

"Y...yummy!" Galand exclaims after taking a large swig of ale. "I never guessed alcohol could advance this much in 3,000 years. Woooee!"

Melascula, meanwhile, looks unamused.

"Melascula! What do you say to a cup?" he offers.

"I'm fine. Our mission is to dominate Britannia, remember? If Zeldris saw you like this, I'm sure he'd give you a piece of his mind."

Zeldris? I thought Elaine said there weren't many demons around anymore. What exactly happened when those human 'Holy Knights' died?

Eventually, Galand convinces Mela to try some of the ale, and she falls in love with it, saying something about how humans have gone from last to first place in one go.

Escanor then starts talking to the Commandments about ale, and I stand up, stretching, and forgetting just whose presence we're in.

Galand's the first to notice me.

"Pretty thing!" he exclaims happily. "I didn't know you were here!"

Mela turns to face me, her jug dropping with a loud 'clink'.

"N...Nesia?" she gasps. "But I thought you died!"

"Well, I'm here thanks to your resurrection spell." I say coldly. "I attacked Meli, but my rage against him has dissipated. Turns out, I'm not dead yet because I have one more rage. And it's directed at you."

Melascula pales, before reaching out to try and cup my cheek, but her hand passed right through.

She blanches, before moving back as Galand tries to grab me, but my body just flickers and his hands just go through.

Shrugging, he turns back to Escanor.

"Mr. Bartender, we already know... that you're hiding those three behind that door there." Galand says. "But those three are barely alive and would be too easy to kill. Also, with pretty thing in the state she is now, she couldn't stop us. And having drunk all that tasty alcohol, I'm in an exceptionally good mood right now. And so it's time for..."

"GALAND'S GAME!" he yells. "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!"

I groan.

"G...game, you say?" is all Escanor has to say.

"Listen up." Galand continues. "If you win this game, I'll let you, pretty thing, and the three behind you go free!"

"R...really?"

I frown. Galand normally doesn't raise the stakes this high. He must really think there's no way he's going to lose.

Well, jokes on him.

My frown turns into a smirk. I sensed immense power radiating from Escanor earlier, similar to Mael's, before he was sealed away with the rest of the Goddess Race. It's probably going to show soon, though, judging from what I can see.

"Galand! What?" Melascula asks.

"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!" they both yell in unison, high-fiving. They must really be drunk.

The weaker human, the one that's not Ban, asks Escanor to leave, but he refuses and accepts Galand's Game.

Poor Galand.

"The rules are simple!" Galand exclaims. "It'll be a one-on-one fight to the death. First we choose our weapons!"

I zone out at that point, until a sentence at the end hits me.

"If you lose, and you die first, I'll kill those measly humans, and we'll take pretty thing with us!"

I then look at my body, which seems to have become less translucent.

Damn it.
