The patrol that day was pretty calm, with only a few minor things. Stopped a robbery, saved an old woman from getting with a car, nothing exciting.
"Goddammit. I honestly thought that it would be a bit more exciting." I mutter, laying back on the couch, tired from walking around all day.
"This is the normal life of a hero. You do this more or less everyday. Big fights rarely happen. Most days, it's like this. Take a shower. I'll heat up taiyaki!" He says, and I sigh. Seems to be the only thing he eats.
"I'm gonna head to that store and grab some real food." I reply, heading up to the bathroom with a change of clothes. I hop in the shower, making it ridiculously hot. When I get out, I get changed into the clothes i grabbed. A grey tee shirt, a black bomber jacket, along with a pair of dark jeans. I walk downstairs, grab my phone, wallet, and headphones, then go out the front door. I connect the headphones, and start playing some music.
I make it to the store, and buy stuff to make some Katsudon. As I pay, then leave, I get a call from Kendo.
"Hello?" I ask, and Kendo just starts spewing.
"Thank you thank you thank you thank you! You saved my sister! Seriously, thank you so much! I don't know how you find you, but you did! Thank you so much, Midoriya!" Kendo says, and I chuckle.
"Woah. Slow down. I can't understand a thing you're saying." I say, and she takes a deep breath
"Sorry. I just got done with filming, and I saw I had missed a few calls from my sister. I called her, and she explained what happened. Thank you so much! Who knows what would've happened if you hadn't found her." Kendo says, and I smile
"It's no problem. I just happened to be nearby and stopped to help. Ser-" I begin, but Kendo cuts me off
"Don't say it's not problem! One of the guys had a gun! You could have been hurt! Were you hurt?" Kendo asks loudly, and with my headphones, I nearly go deaf.
"I'm fine. Seriously, you underestimate me. I'm not a glass cannon." I sigh as I dodge someone on the sidewalk, side stepping them
"THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE! REMEMBER THE SPORTS FESTIVAL? YOU BROKE ALL OF YOUR FINGERS!" Kendo shouts, and I cringe at the volume
"I did that on purpose. I was making a point. I don't do that all that often to be honest. I promise you, I'm not gonna injure myself purposefully unless it's absolutely necessary." I explain
"You better not. I'm not through with you, Hero Boy, but I gotta go. Don't do anything stupid." Kendo says, and I smirk
"No promises, Pres." I reply, and then hang up.
I walk back inside of Gran Torino's apartment and make two servings of Katsudon, handing one to Torino.
"Eat up, old man." I say as I take a bite of my own. He digs in, and seems pleasantly surprised
"You make some mean Katsudon kid! Where did you learn to make this?" He asks
"My mom. She's a damn good cook. I learned from the best." I say as I take another bite. We eat in silence for several minutes, and he finishes first
"That's certainly true. I have do some work for another source, so I'm going to my room. Make sure to get some sleep, young man." Gran Torino says, standing up
"Yeah yeah yeah." I reply, and Gran Torino smirks.
"We're heading into Hosu tomorrow, after some training in the morning. It's a more crime dense area, so maybe you'll have some more action." Gran Torino says, and I perk up my head
