AN: Hello everyone! Sorry for my longer-than-usual absence. There was a family emergency that caused me to spend some time offline. I'm back now, and doing better! As usual, feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think! Notice I didn't tell you to let me know what you wanted to see next because this is it, 'Safe' is finished!
When we got home, everything was a little different. It was much harder for Scott and I to field the rumors brewing about us. We had decided that today, we would tell the rest of our friends about the status of our relationship, and we would do so through a Carly and Erin video.
When I arrived at David's house, Rex in tow, Natalie sent me to where the girls were. They were setting up their equipment when I walked in. "Hey girls!" I greeted as I set my stuff down against the far wall and let Rex off the leash.
"You ready to film?" Erin asks, walking over to give me a hug. I nod in response. They finish setting up as I slip out to pee really quick.
When I come back, Carly and Erin are seated on the couch, with a space in the middle for me. I sit down, and Erin shifts to press the record button on their camera.
"Welcome back to our Sunday video!" we all chorus.
"Today, we have the lovely Ellie here with us, and we're going to be looking at the "Keeping up with the Vlog Squad" page with her today," Carly's cheery voice carries through the room.
Erin picks up from there, "However, since she's new, we've gone through and looked up anything specifically about her. We're going to be reading through all of these today to see what you think of her."
I smile a little as Erin makes a big show of pulling out her laptop, "So keep in mind, these are going from when you first showed up to today."
I take a deep breath, "I'm ready. Roast me."
"The very first one," Erin introduces, "Did anyone see that chick in the background of Heath's Game Night vlog? She's sticking awful close to Zane. Is there something there?"
We all let out a laugh at that, "No," Carly chokes through her laughter, "Zane did bring her to the game night that night, but it was NOT because he was trying to get with her."
"This one just says: There's no way her hair is real." Erin reads.
"Well," I say, looking into the camera and pulling on the end of one of my curls. "It is. It's been like this pretty much my whole life, but it did get a lot curlier after I hit puberty."
Erin and I lapsed into a discussion about our childhood hair, and not knowing how to take care of it for a moment. Carly is the one who gets us back on track.
"Next," Erin reads, "Zane's girl has a name, Ellie. Not Zane's anymore though. She seems very cuddly with Todd. Is she just here for the money?"
The girls dissolve into another fit of giggles. "Again, I wasn't here for Todd either. This is just a very cuddly friend group, and I will never say no to cuddles."
Carly backs me up, "Todd is one of the cuddliest of the group too. It's like he needs human affection to survive."
"There's something wrong with Ellie," Erin reads, eyes wide.
"You're not wrong." I answer, trying to keep the mood lighthearted, "They don't give these dogs out for no reason."
Erin continues to read, "There's a lot about you being a clout chaser, and you being here to try to get money from some of us." Erin takes it upon herself to answer this question. "Well, first of all we, meaning Zane, kinda dragged her into all of this. She definitely didn't seek us out. Secondly, if she was trying to get with one of the boys for the money, I wouldn't blame her. I would too." Erin finishes with a sarcastic laugh.
"Okay," Erin says, "Carly and I read this, and we're very curious about this one too. Someone spotted this in the background of one frame of David's Halloween Party vlog." she turns the camera so I can see a very zoomed in, grainy shot of Scott carrying me out of the party. "Is that Scott and Ellie? Because it sure looks like it. Has she been with Scott all along?"
I take a deep breath, knowing a question like this was gonna come up. "Yes, that is Scott carrying me out of the party. At that time we weren't together, but we are now."
The room filled with squeals as the two girls practically bounced off of the walls with excitement. "No fucking way!" Erin exclaims as she grabs me by the shoulders.
"But," I draw out, "You can't put that in the video."
Carly reaches over and quickly turns off the camera, "Tell us everything."

By the end of that day, the entire group was aware of the fact that Scott and I were together. David, of course, put on a big show that he was the one who belonged with me. He vowed that we would be the ones who ended up together, and told everyone that he was going to marry me, just like he did with Jason's mom. Of course, this made everyone laugh.
That night, after Scott dropped Rex and I off at my apartment, I was allowed some time to reflect.
Would I marry David? Haha, Maybe. Would things work out with Scott? Would they work out with the group in general? Where is my life going? I don't really know, but with Scott, I feel safe enough to find out.
AN: Within the next few days, I'm going to publish one more chapter with some questions for anyone reading to answer (if they feel up to it) about the future of Ellie and Scott. I'll also be asking about other future projects!
