The passageway seemed never-ending. The marauders felt like they had been walking for hours. In reality it had only been 15 minutes. Then they came to a stop. There was a huge drop before them.
James looked over at Sirus, giving him a look as if to say 'so where to now?'. Sirius seemed to understand this and batted a small rock towards the drop with his paw. The rock fell down and they heard it hit the bottom after about 2 seconds of falling.
They decided to climb down and see what was down there. The only one who didn't seem to fall was Peter. It was very dark in the hole. Much too dark. James couldn't see a thing. Sirius and Peter didn't seem to be able to either as they had also come to a stop next to him. Remus, however, kept going forwards into the cave.
'He must have some sort of enhanced senses'. James thought. He had always assumed that Remus might have enhanced senses, but had never asked.
And so James, Sirus and Peter followed Remus down the passegeway.
There wasn't much down there, just a couple of bats, which Remus tried to eat, a few odd drawings and some small holes, which they tried to send Peter to investigate. They had been walking for 10 minutes before seeing light and climbing out into the forbidden forest. From here, they decided that they wanted to walk around the forest for a bit, what else was there to do?
And then they heard it...
...A scream.

Sorry, again, for the short chapter. Didn't really have any ideas of what could've happened in the cave.
