(Rewind to Middle School Life~)
"Hey! Deku! Still trying to believe that you can become a hero? You quirkless bastard," Bakugo said laughing at Deku while he hugged his notebook where he kept everyone's information. "A quirkless bastard like you should just go aim for a normal job,"
I turned the corner and saw the situation. Bakugo's friends laughed pointing at Deku kneeling in front of them with his hero notebook. Bakugo revealed his palms as sparks crackled onto them. I jogged over and kneeled to Deku.
"Deku? You okay?" I asked as he turned his head over towards me. He flashed a weak smile and I helped him stand back up. I looked over at Bakugo with his annoying grin.
"You're seriously still going to stand up for that quirkless Deku?" he asked.
"Bakugo, it's not nice to pick on him like that. He can become a hero if he wants!" I replied and walked away with Deku. "Come on, do you have your lunch money?"
"K-Kacchan took it," Deku answered all trembly.
"I'll pay for your lunch then. We are friends after all," I smiled.
"Wow, you let her escape with that Deku," one of Bakugo's friend said watching us walk back to the cafeteria.
"Shut the hell up!" Bakugo said placing his hands in his pockets feeling the lunch money that he took from Deku. "Tsk! I'll make sure to do something next time,"
"You're going to fight a girl?" his friends asked. "Bad move. It could make you look like a jerk,"
As if he already wasn't one.
"K-Konomi," Deku said.
"Please, just call me Kazu,"
"T-Thank you for the meal!"
I smiled and laughed playfully punching his arm.
"You're welcome Deku, I'll make sure to help you anytime! That annoying Katsuki is always trying to push you down from what you want to be, but don't let it get to you. Okay Deku?"
His eyes brightened as he nodded happily. Deku always thought of you as someone special to him, not in a romantic way. Just what a true friend should be. He felt guilty at times that he couldn't stand up to Bakugo the way that you did. He knew that he couldn't let you out of his life because you were the only one who supported his dream and would always reassure him that he can become a hero. It made his dream seem less ridiculous whenever you'd motivate him.
"W-Want to see what I wrote in my notebook!?" he asked excitedly that he could share his love of heroes with someone else. "I wrote more information down about the heroes I've seen!"
"Sure, I'd love to see what you have Deku,"
He smiled and flipped open his notebook to the new added pages he filled up. While you two were looking at his notebook and admiring his information on heroes. Bakugo was staring at the two of you alone at the table.
"Yo, Bakugo?" one of his friends asked as Bakugo turned to him.
"The hell you want?"
"Why are you always staring at the two of them? Are you planning on how to embarrass them?"
Bakugo bit his bottom lip then looked down at his bowl of rice.
"No, it's a waste of time. It pisses me off to see Deku with that annoying smile of his,"
Bakugo couldn't help but feel a sense of jealousy whenever he saw you two alone together. It annoyed him even more when it was the kid he hated the most. He glanced over to see you smiling and laughing with Deku while her reactions with him was very different. She always gave you the cold shoulder and rarely showed you warm reactions. It made him so mad that he couldn't catch your attention unlike Deku..
He got up and started walking towards your table.
"Hey! Deku!" he shouted as Deku and I looked up from the notebook.
"Y-Y-Yes Kacchan!?" Deku shouted nervously knowing that he's going to get thrown to the ground. Bakugo ruffled through one of his pockets and slammed our table revealing the money that he took from Deku.
"Take back your damn money! I don't need loser money around me," he stated and turned around to go back to his table. Deku and I looked at the crumpled up bills sitting on the table. I looked over at Bakugo's table to see his friends questioning him.
"Why did you give him his money back?"
"The great Bakugo doesn't want the money?"
"Did Konomi do something to you? She has the ability too,"
Bakugo slammed his fist on the table.
"I said that I didn't need his loser money! I can just use my own,"
Deku took his money back and tried to straighten the bills as best as he could. He handed me the money, but I rejected his kind gesture. It did take a bit of convincing because Deku wouldn't give up on trying to repay me back.
When school finished, I walked out with Deku.
"I'm sorry Kazu! There's a new All Might figure and I have to run downtown to get it before everyone else! Please excuse me!" Deku bowed over and over repeatedly feeling sorry. I waved my hands in front of my chest.
"I-It's alright Deku, All Might is someone you look up too right? It'd be a shame if you couldn't get your favorite hero's figure. Hurry and go," I replied as he nodded and ran off downtown.
I sighed a bit tired of the whole school day and continued to walk back to my house. I put in my earbuds and played some music on my phone walking back. I hummed to the song and observed my surroundings. I loved listening to music when walking because it blocked out every other noise that was roaming around. It made it seem like I was in a nice dream with the music blasting my eardrums. I looked down at my bag and ruffled through the papers to find a certain flyer. I looked at the school corkboard and noticed a flyer for auditions to get into the school talent show. I thought that maybe I'd sing a small song since I always loved music.
"There you are," I said quietly pulling the flyer out of my bag as a huge blast of wind passed by me. The flyer got out of my hand and I ran to try and catch it. It flew around a corner.
Bakugo was on the other end of that corner. He was minding his own business then a flyer flew and got into his face.
"JFJSFSJKFSJF" he screamed removing the flyer then lifted his eyebrow. "School talent show audition? Where the hell did this come from?" Bakugo turned to corner just to crash into you. "WHAT THE HELL!? WOULD YOU WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!?" he touched his chest and looked over to finally see who he bumped into.
I saw the flyer in his hand and reached my hand to grab it, but he lifted his arm over his head.
"You looking for this?" he asked.
"Bakugo! Give that to me!" I demanded jumping to snatch the flyer. He laughed seeing me hopelessly try. I sighed annoyed of his existence. "Whatever," I gave up and bumped his shoulder pushing him out of my way. He grabbed my wrist and turned me back towards him.
"Here," he said.
Bakugo placed the flyer in my hand then let go continuing to walk to the corner.
