Chapter 5: Helping Deku

I've been listening to songs in order to decide what song I should perform in front of everyone. I wonder if anyone would even like it if I performed. Deku and I planned to stay after school and hang out together. I also wanted to ask him about what song I should do because I was very indecisive about it. I pulled out my journal and looked through the song titles I wrote down then I heard some yelling around the classroom.

"Katsuki Bakugo! Place your feet down from your desk!" our teacher commanded. Bakugo didn't bother to listen at all to his order.

"Listen teach, you should let the future number one hero place his feet where he wants too. You'll be honored and graced one day when everyone finds out you've been teaching the future hero," Bakugo stated proudly. Our teacher sighed at Bakugo's cocky response and just left him alone. The bell rung as class ended and everyone started packing up. Deku got up walking over to me.

"K-Kazu? Ready?" he asked as I nodded. I threw my backpack straps over my shoulders and started walking out with Deku until Bakugo and his friends were blocking the doorway.

"Hey Deku," Bakugo said staring him down. Deku looked down at the floor a bit trembly. I grabbed his wrist.

"Move," I commanded activating my quirk. They all did what I commanded and we walked away from them as I turned my quirk off.

"H-How did you!"

"I used my quirk on them," I replied. Deku pulled out his notebook and got his pen ready to write.

"Tell me about it," he said. I smiled.

"Well my quick is named as Impossible. I can basically do anything of the impossible and that includes stealing quirks and anything you could think of. It's kinda ironic that it's called impossible because I can also do the "possible" things now. I guess that could basically do anything as long as my quirk is activated. I need to basically be perfect with every single thing that I want to do. It needs to be controlled well,"

I looked back to see Deku mumbling like crazy while scribbling every piece of information that came out of my mouth. His mumbles were very intense and some people around us stared at him wondering if he was alright. I gently elbowed him to get his attention as he looked back up finished with his notetaking.

"Let's relax under this tree," I said. "You brought the stuff, right?"

He nodded and pulled out a blanket from his backpack placing it down on the nice green-colored grass. Deku and I decided to sit on our school fields far away from everyone. It was a beautiful scene and we were close to a small lake. We both sat down and I pulled out my journal to discuss the songs with Deku. I showed him all the song titles and we listened to it together. I handed him one piece of my earbud as he put it in his ear and I played the songs. We bobbed our heads a bit staring at each other enjoying the music.

"Your taste in music is very good Kazu!" he said. I smiled at his compliment.

"Thanks, someday I hope to become a singer and a hero," I said.

"That'd be so cool! A famous singer and a prohero at the same time!?" he said happily.

"It'd also be cool if you became a hero too," I said flicking his forehead as he started rubbing the spot. "I know you get very insecure about being quirkless,"

He scratched his head nervously as I figured him out. Our attention was directed toward a male figure from afar walking towards us.

"Ahh, it's Bakugo," I said rolling my eyes. "Is he going to annoy us again?"

Bakugo had his hands in his pockets. Sadly, he didn't come alone. He had his "crew" to impress. I could hear them making fun of Deku. When they came toward us, one of his friends grabbed my wrist and pulled me up.

"What do you guys want now?!" I asked. Deku stood up immedientlly, he wanted to help. He just...couldn't bring himself to do it. Bakugo looked over to see my journal and Deku's notebook lying on the blanket and the biggest smirk formed onto his lips. He made his other friend grab a hold of Deku and Bakugo grabbed our things that we treasured. He started walking towards the lake and I knew what he was planning to do. It wasn't complicated, he was really going to throw our precious items into water. My normal instinct made me break free from his friend's grip and run to Bakugo in order to save our objects. I was a very small distance away, but he threw them.

"No!" I shouted and jumped into the lake catching Deku's notebook, but my journal had suffered in the water. I could only save one, but I didn't regret my choice. Deku had put so much effort into his notebook. It'd be a shame to start over. Bakugo's friends pointed and laughed at me all soaking wet in the lake while Bakugo was shocked that I saved Deku's prized procession.

"K-Kazu!" Deku shouted as I got up walking back to him ignoring Bakugo's presence. I smiled and handed him his notebook.

"Here Deku, it's safe," I calmly said. Deku smiled at my efforts to save his special item. "It's alright, I can always get a new journal,"
