Dodgeballs? Dodgeballs!

POV: Melody

As Alan and I are walking to the next class, he takes something from his pocket and without opening his hand to show me what it was, sticks it in my hand and says put it in my pocket without looking.

"Why?" I ask. I try to look at it to see what it was, but he grabs my hand.

"Just trust me I will tell you when to look at it," he responds with those big blue, grey eyes. I'm not sure if I can 100% trust him again, but I want to believe him. I pull my hand away from my pocket and we head off to gym class. With all the guys at once. This should be fun.

Joey looks like he is in charge... Oh boy!

"Let's start with some push-ups," Chad looks at Joey weird, but Caleb gets down and impressively does ten until he realized Joey was kidding.

"Oh... Hey that was not very nice!" Caleb offensively said.

"Well I'd say that was impressive," Kelsey replies.

Joey makes a kissy face, and Chad messes up his hair. Joey scrambles to fix it. "Can't touch this," Joey sings.

"Wow and I thought Caleb was bad with hair," Chad mocks. Alan gives them both a look. That quieted them both. Joey then explains the game that he planned.

"Ok so here is the game. We will have two teams for this little game I like to call.... rollar ball," Joey instructs trying to seem manly, "You will each get a partner on your team and one will sit in the shopping cart like this." (Joey says hopping in and nods to Alan who grabs the handle bars. Caleb hops in the other one with Chad grabbing the other handles.) Alan hands Alan a dodgeball. "Ok here is how the game goes. Everyone will start with one dodgeball for each partner set, and you will start on your wall. Then when the whistle is blown your partner will run behind you and push the cart. The person in the cart will throw the dodge balls and try to hit either a person in the cart or the person pushing. If one of you get hit, then you will run to the sides. The only way you can get back in is if a person on your team hits the back board of the basketball hoop. You can try to catch the ball, and it will bring one person back in. Hitting the backboard will bring your whole team back in. Does everybody get these instructions?"

Everybody nods in approval. "Oh yeah and one more thing. If the music stops from our DJ Max over there, and he calls it, than the driver will be the rider and the rider will be the driver."

"THEN!" Caleb corrects throwing a ball at Joey.

"Oh come on bro!" Chad smiles.

"My bandmates are ridiculous!" Alan says.

"HEY! That is MY line!!" Joey whines frowning.

"Ok is anybody ready to actually PLAY now?!??!?!?!" Jordan complains.

"Everybody go get jerseys and that will decide our teams." Joey says.

I choose my lucky number 17 and when I turn around I see the Izzy is wearing the same number, but in the opposite color. We both laugh becuase this remind both of us of our favorite bible verse... love a friend at all times. I know I can count on Izzy. We will always be friends, but I guess friends can turn on you when you are on a different teams... not in a bad way. It's just playing the game with little friendly competition.

Of course Joey and Chad rush to grab the last green jersey, but Joey gets there first. Chad is nice and let's Joey have it.... We all know this'll backfire later, but Joey does not seem to care right now.

The teams end up being split up pretty evenly.

The green team is Joey and Alan, Beth and Elisabeth, Mags and Jordan, and I. I guess I'm left behind a little. Oh well.

The Blue team contains Caleb and Chad, Izzy and Tyler, Kyle and Jaz, and Merida is the other backup.

There are one extra person on each team, so that we can switch out people. We are about to start when we see walk in both Kelsey's and Fallon along with another girl. They were all laughing.

I walk over to meet them, "Hey guys do you want to join us?" I ask.

"Umm no thanks I leave the sports to Cabey," Kelsey replies.

"Actually it looks like fun. I love playing with my brothers, so I'm used to being around guys," Kelsey says.

"I guess I'll play," Fallon joins us too.

"I think I'll stay back with Kels," says the other girl.

Izzy comes running towards us and asks her, "Hey what's your name? Do you want to play with us?"

"My name is Kay, and I don't think I'll play right now. I just want to watch," Kay replies.

"Well 'Kay' then," I say. We all laugh at that cheesy line.

Kelsey joins the green team, and Fallon joins her man on the blue team. I think Kelsey just wanted to have a friendly competition with Kyle. They are so cute.

Kelsey and I team up on green, and Fallon joins with Merida. Now nobody gets left out. Caleb's Kelsey and Kay look like cheerleaders from the sides.

After a while a surprise happens and Jordan was standing behind pushing my cart and Kelsey was behind Mags. I didn't even know it happened it was really quick. It was probably Mags doing, and I wouldn't doubt it.

It's the last round and the game was intense. Chad and Joey were always at each other. I try to get Chad for Joey as Jordan pushes me in the cart, but it backfires as Caleb was in the cart and nearly hits me. He doesn't though! Heehee! Everyone is going at each other.

Then there is one cart left from each team. Izzy and Tyler are representing the blue, and Jordan and I are dominating the blue team.... I mean representing the Green team.

The last dodgeballs are thrown and the final round ends with....
