Cove's room above ^^
Cove's POV
After River dropped me off at home I locked all my doors and windows and ran straight to my room. My parents work very late shifts and they probably wouldn't be home until around midnight.I quickly changed into a light yellow oversized t-shirt and jumped right into my fluffy bed, the pink and white blankets devouring me whole. As you may be able to tell, my favorite colors are pink and yellow. I shut my eyes and fell asleep almost instantly.
The next morning I awoke to a bright stray of light shining through my window. I was in such a hurry last night, that I forgot to shut my curtains before falling asleep.
Sucking in one last deep breath in, I sat up in my bed. The second my head lifted from my white satin pillow, a wave of dizziness hit me. I groaned loudly and collapsed back into bed, shutting my eyes tightly.
I later woke up again and looked to my clock which flashed 9 AM. Today is a Friday, so I guess I can just stay home and rest after my long day yesterday. I slowly slid out of bed, my head spinning at a very fast rate.
Somehow I managed to make my way to my bathroom and into the shower. The water spraying down on my face helped me wake up a little more. After a while of just standing there, I grabbed my rose scented body wash and started scrubbing my skin.
All the memories from yesterday came flooding in my mind. I have so many questions like, why did River save me? How does River know Hector? What was Hector planning on doing to me? And most importantly, why did River have a gun?
All of these questions I don't have an answer too, although I do have a pretty good idea of what Hector and his guys COULD have done to me. But I don't really want to think about that now.
I quickly shut off the water and dried off in a fluffy white towel. I exited my bathroom with the towel wrapped around me and went to my dresser. After a few minutes of looking through my drawers, I decided on a loose pink crop top that cut off right above my bellybutton and some black leggings.
I only own a handful of crop-tops, but I basically live in leggings. I have a whole drawer dedicated to my black leggings, not including my other colored ones. I also slid on some pink fluffy socks and skipped downstairs.
I opted on making scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast and got out a pan to cook. I loovee eggs, they're delicious and easy to make.
I sat at the table with my plate once I was done cooking and started eating while pulling out my phone to scroll through instagram. Just as I was finishing my last bite of food, my phone chimed with a new message. I looked at my phone and it read:
1 new message from unknown number:
Why aren't you at school?I started scratching my brain trying to think of who it could be when my phone dinged again and another message popped up:
Are you at home? Please answer me.
I giggled once I realized who it was. I totally forgot that I gave River my number yesterday. He gave me his too, I just forgot to save it.
Are you okay? Answer me!
This time I laughed out loud at how needy he was getting and quickly sent him back a text before he called a search party on me.
Yes I'm at home and I'm fine, I just feel a little sick, that's all.
After a few minutes I saw that it was read and I saved his number under River 🌊 then turned off my phone completely.
I went to the living room and scrolled through the channels before settling on watching Moana. I know it's kinda childish, but who doesn't like a good Disney movie. Only boring people hate disney movies.
Once the movie finished, it was already 2:45. School ends at 2:30, so Leah should be over soon.
Leah comes over ever Friday and sleeps over. We always stay up all night binge watching The Office or Twilight.
Like magic, the doorbell rang right as
I thought that.Wait. Leah never knocks or rings the doorbell, she has a spear key and she comes right in herself if we don't come together. Plus she's early, she usually stays after school for half a hour for student government. Something's not right.
I grabbed my phone and quietly tiptoed to the door. I had to go up on my tippy-toes to see out of the peep hole, and what I saw made me super glad I checked first.
Hector.River's POV
After 3 long classes, lunch rolled around. I didn't see the girl who I now know is named Cove in the class we have together. I got a little worried when I didn't see her sitting with her friends at lunch either so I decided to text her.I sent her a quick text, and after a few minutes she didn't respond. Weird. I texted her again, and after a minute or two she didn't respond again. I texted her a third time and started worrying a lot, but thank gosh she texted me back. Phew, I was really getting worried.
A few hours passed by, and school is now over. Before I can to go home though, I have to meet with a new freshman kid and discuss a trade he wants to make.
I made my way to an empty classroom that we decided to meet at, and opened the door. When I went in, I saw him (I think his name is Andy) leaning against the furthest wall.
"Andy?" I asked and started approaching him, not too close though because I don't like being close to humans. Unless it's Cove.
"That's me," the kid said in a weird deep voice like he was still going through puberty, which he probably is.
"I don't have all day so let's just cut to the chase, what are you looking to trade?" I asked.
"$75 and a brand new scale for half a pound of weed." He said in his annoying voice. (An: I don't know if I this is good or not but just go with it)
I took a second to consider it. It isn't terrible and I can always use another scale, but it's a little cheap for his first time. After a few moments, I came up with an answer.
"$100 and you got yourself a deal."
After a while we settled on meeting this Sunday at two near the plaza. As I left the school building, my phone started ringing.
I instantly took it out of my pocket and was surprised to see that the person calling is none other than Cove.
I quickly got over my shock though and answered, putting the phone to my ear."Hello?"
"River!" She answered whispering and sounding scared.
"Cove? What it? What's wrong?" I asked, worry clear in my voice.
"River, he's here! He's at my door!" She said with panic in her voice.
"Who's here Cove?" I asked.
"Hector!" She whisper yelled. My heart dropped a little hearing that. How did he find her house?
"Okay Cove, I coming. Don't worry I'm coming. Hide somewhere and don't come out until I call you." I ordered and hung up.
I'm coming Cove, I'm coming, I thought as I got in my car and speed off.
