Cove's house above ^^
River's POV
I can't believe that Hector has the gut to go after her after everything that happened yesterday. Did I not get it through his mind not to mess with me?I finally made it to Cove's house to find the door knocked down and muddy footprints leading inside. I didn't see his car anywhere, but then again he could have brought another one. I just hope that Cove is still here.
Right as I got inside, I heard a scream coming from upstairs. Not just any scream, Cove's scream.
What if I'm too late?Cove's POV
After River hung up, I ran to my parent's room and hid in their bathroom shower. Hopefully he'll check my room first since my parent's room is the farthest down the hallway. After a few minutes of complete silence, I heard the downstairs door slam open and loud footsteps enter the house.
I can hear who I assume is Hector checking every room downstairs thoroughly before slowly ascending the stairs.
"Cove," he called out in a chilling voice. I can tell that he is probably smirking to himself.
I hugged my knees to my chest, how does he know my name? Better yet, how did he know my address!"Come out now, no one's here to save you," he said while going farther up the steps. He's right though, no one's here. River is still a few minutes away, I'm all alone.
He finally reached the top of the stairs and I heard him start to make his way to my room. Good thing I hid in here.
"Come on Cove, I just want to have some fun," he said, sending chills down my spine and making me whimper quietly. Who knows what he will do me, all I can do is hope that River will get here soon.
As time passed and I heard Hector getting closer and closer yelling taunts in a creepy voice, I started to second guess my entire life choices.
Is this how I die? I'm too young to die! I still need to graduate and go to college. I need to get married, start a family, lose my virginity. For f*cks sake the most I've ever done is kiss a guy, and it was in sixth grade for a dare!
"Cove, I know you're in here!" Hector taunted as he entered the bedroom. I bit my lip to keep from screaming. I'm now seriously regretting not calling the police, why did I call River of all people?
I listened to his foot steps get closer and closer to the bathroom door, and a tear escaped my eyes. All too sudden, the door flew open and I heard his breathing. I heard his hand grab the shower curtains, and the sound as they were pulled open.
I screamed louder than I ever have before, and my eyes met Hectors horrible smirking face.
"Gotcha!" He yelled and started laughing a very evil laugh. His nasty hand grabbed my arm and pulled me up very roughly.
"You're all alone with me now, I can do whatever I want," he whispered in my ear, and I started crying super hard. This is it, goodbye world. Goodbye family and friends, I'll miss you.
Hector gripped my arm even tighter and slammed me against the wall. This made me start bawling. I just want River to be here.
"Now let's start with that pretty little-"
Suddenly Hector's hand was torn off my own and a loud voice boomed. Not just and voice, River's voice.River's POV (Sorry last pov change)
The second I heard Hector's voice, I was already half way up the stairs. I swear on everything in this cruel world if he even laid a finger on her, he and his whole family will be dead.I followed the sound of Hector's disgusting voice and Cove's cries into a bathroom, and what I saw made me completely lose control.
Hector had her pushed against a wall with his hand tightly wrapped around her poor little arm. I tore his nasty hand off of her and slammed him to the ground.
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! I GAVE YOU A SECOND CHANCE AND THIS IS WHAT YOU DO!?" I yelled while kicking him repeatedly in the stomach.
He was groaning while I turned away for a second to look at my poor little Cove.
She is backed against the wall, crying hysterically. I quickly scanned her body for any signs of injury, and luckily all I could see were a few bruises already forming on her arm. But that's only from the front side.
"Cove come here," I said while opening my arms, and thankfully she ran right in. I hugged her tightly and let her cry into my shoulder for a couple of minutes.
"Are you hurt? What did he do to you?" I asked while finally pulling away.
She sniffled before answering, "h-he dragged me o-out of the shower a-and slammed me on t-the wall." She said through tears."Shhhh It's okay now," I said before engulfing her in another hug.
Another few minutes passed and I was finally able to calm Cove down. By this time Hector had composed himself and tried to escape.
"Not so fast Hector, I'm not nearly close to finished," I said in a voice that sounded waaaay too calm. He huffed and sat on the floor, crossing his arms like a child. I would have laughed if it weren't for the situation we're in.
"Cove, can you go downstairs for a second? I'll be right there," I asked, and she reluctantly nodded before leaving.
Once she was gone, my face hardened and I turned to face the disgusting excuse of a human Hector."Oh Hector, Hector, Hector, Hector, what am I going to do with you?" I asked while circling him.
"Kill me?" He suggested sarcastically. This made me chuckle a little.
"Oh Hector, what I'm going to do to will make you wish I would have killed you the first time you crossed me."
I made my way downstairs after calling one of my guys to come get Hector and bring him to the warehouse. He'll be here any minute, so now I need to get Cove out of her house for a bit.
When I got the the bottom of the stairs, I saw Cove laying on her couch with an ice pack on her arm.
"River?" She asked when I approached her.
"Yeah?" I answered."I thought I was going to die," she said.
"I would never let that happen," I told her while crouching down in front of her.
"Never."
When she didn't answer, I added, "do you want to know why?"
She nodded and looked into my eyes expectingly.
"Because you're mine now, and I'm going to protect you for as long as I live."
