River's room above ^^
Cove's POV
"Because you're mine now, and I'm going to protect you for as long as I live," River said. His now? What exactly does that mean?
"Like boyfriend and girlfriend?" I asked. He chuckled at my question and took one of my hands in his.
"Yes, exactly like boyfriend and girlfriend," he answered, looking deep into my eyes. The look in his eyes leaves no room for argument, not that I would argue. I'd love to be his girlfriend.
I squealed at his answer and jumped in his arms. He laughed and stood up, setting me down on my feet.
"Now how about we go get some ice cream."
————————————————————
It's 30 minutes later and both River and I are at the ice cream parlor sitting on a bench outside with our ice creams.
I texted Leah and told her not to come over, and she said that it was fine since she was caught up with student-government stuff anyways. The elections are coming up in a couple of weeks, and Leah's running for president so she must be pretty busy. I can't wait to help her make posters and a voting booth!
"Cove," River's beautiful voice called my name, making me turn my head in his direction.
"Yeah?" I answered.
"Do you want to come to my house for tonight? I don't know if you want to stay alone after that." He said. He's right, I don't want to be alone so I quickly agreed to his offer, and he smiled.
After we finished our ice cream, he drove me to my house to grab a couple of things for the night. I ended up packing an outfit for tomorrow, some pajamas and my toiletries. I also texted my Mom to see if it was okay, and thankfully she said yes. I skipped down the stairs once I was finished with everything.
River was on the phone when I got down, and he looked pretty tense. I quietly tiptoed closer to him without making my presence known so that I could hear some of the things he was saying.
"He what!....Yeah she's with me... okay I'll make sure... keep him there, I'll be over tonight." With that, he hung up the phone and started rubbing his temple.
"River?" I called softly while stepping fully into view. He immediately stopped and turned to me, his expression softening dramatically.
"You ready?" He asked with a smile on his face. I nodded and walked to him, putting my arms around him.
"Thank you," I said.
"You're welcome Cove," he answered and kissed my forehead. His lips sent shivers down my entire body. I don't know this feeling, but I love it.
The drive to his house was long and we sat in a comfortable silence most of the way there. I started to feel kinda tired even though it was only 6:00. I guess It's because I'm still a little sick, even though I'm not as dizzy anymore.
"Cove, were here," River's voice interrupted my thoughts. I opened my eyes that I didn't even realized were closed and saw a huge house.
"Woah," I said, and River chuckled while hopping out the car and coming to open my door for me.
"Thanks," I mumbled and took his hand to help me out. He lead me to the door, pausing to unlock it then holding it open for me.
If I thought the outside was nice, the inside is nothing compared to it. There is a giant living room with 3 grey couches in a L shape with an extra leg. He has a huge flatscreen T.V on top of a electric fireplace made of pretty white brick.
Next to it is a kitchen with a bar area that has 6 grey stools. There is a huge island in the middle that had a double stove and even a grill built in. All of the cabinets are painted white and had grey marble countertops.
