It had gotten late into the night. Usually Mr. Tashigi would loudly announce he was closing up shop, but you didn't hear a peep from the old man. This 'Tomura' guy was somebody sketchy, yet here he was, playing an arcade game with you like a bunch of school kids.

As you both played the hundredth round of Mortal Combat, you checked your phone for the time. 1am?!? You abruptly shot up from your seat, making Tomura stare up at you blankly.

"Aw man! My parents are gonna kill me!! I gotta go it's so late!" You gestured wildly, looking down at Tomura apologetically.

Abruptly, you grabbed his hands with yours. Sliding the coins into his palms, shocking him. He looked like he was spooked by you grabbing his hands, like that had never happened to him. He seemed almost timid.

"Here!" You cheerfully said. Waving as you ran out the door.

Tomura watched silently as you left, unsure of what just happened.

The next week was unusually busy, whether it was college courses or the flower shop, there was little time to go back to the arcade. It didn't stop you from thinking about your exciting yet scary new friend. Tapping you fingers on the counter, more flowers popped from your hair, today's were roses. They were white roses to be exact, in flower language these usually symbolize reverence or remembrance...and hope for the future. It was a weird habit you had, when you knew you couldn't be honest with your feelings, your hair seemed to do it for you. Embarrassing as it was, it seemed you kept thinking about your admittedly fun time with Tomura.

In your pretty mundane life, you couldn't help, but feel excited for the next time you met him. He wasn't conventionally attractive, and he was honestly terrifying, yet there was a bit of innocence to him. At that you shook you head dramatically, sending rose petals everywhere. Slapping your face, trying to maintain a level head. What was the matter with you?

Customers for the rest of the day came and went, the afternoon sun gave a red hue through the glass of the store, illuminating it beautifully. Time to start closing up. Y/n started sweeping petals and dust from the floor, wiping down the counters and just as you were locking the door, you saw Tomura, he was midway grabbing the handle.

Both of you stared at each other shocked, neither moving. Y/n didn't know what to do, invite him in? Wasn't he sketchy? Yet he was all you thought about for a week?!

He gently knocked on the glass door, interrupting your thoughts. Looking up to his face, he gave an awkward wave, it was so innocent.

Slowly you opened it, giving a smile. "Hey you, didn't know if I'd see you again."

He looked stone faced, looking away from your smile. "Yeah...I wanted another flower from you flower-head." He pointed at you white flowers atop your head. "One of those maybe? It wouldn't hurt right? Uh...you can say no."

You were realized you were blushing head to toe from embarrassment. Their flower language was a neon sign to you of basically missing him. Covering your face in your hands, making him tilt his head confused. Nervously he scratched at his neck, "I'll take that as a no. Sorry for scaring you." He turned to leave abruptly, shoving his hands in his hoodie jacket.

Instinctively you grabbed his sleeve, stopping him. He turned to you a little timid. You looked up at him, your face still flushed. "S-sure. Um your not completely scary, I-I'm just embarrassed."

He completely turns to you, scratching his neck nervously. "What? Do they have a meaning too?" He looked you directly in the eyes now, calm.

Hurriedly, you yanked out a dozen roses from your head, quickly shoving them in his hands. He looked a mix of worried and scared. That didn't make it less embarrassing. "Here!" You said almost yelling. "The white roses mean hope for future and uh-friendship, let's be friends I guess... I mean if you want!?" You knew you sounded like a child, for gods-sake your were going to graduate college soon, but you couldn't stop yourself. You just didn't want him to disappear, you would always wonder who this mysterious, odd, scary gamer had gone off to.

He seemed shocked, not knowing what to say as held the dozen roses. He blinked his tired eyes, trying to think of a response. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, he looked down at the roses in his hands shyly. " I-I guess we can be friends, um-the thing is you have to stop grabbing me hands......it's about my quirk. I don't want to hurt you Y/n. You know, I don't think I've ever had a friend, my...job...keeps me busy." He gave a smirk at that, turning to leave again. "Be sewing again soon then, buddy." Before you could stop him or your blush, he was far down the street towards the setting sun.

Closing the door shut slowly, you shoved your back against it, sliding your body down the floor. The Adrenalin of your surprise meeting coursed through your veins. Mixed emotions raced through your body, leaving you drained and enlightened at the same time.

-Is this what having a crush is like?- you thought to yourself. Maybe just maybe you thought, your boring life may be over.
