chapter three

"i can't fucking do this."

she suddenly stopped to remove her heels, ripping off the straps as fast as she could. I paused, and waited for her to start running again.

"noah, hurry up!" I hissed, my hand motioning in circles.

i heard sirens getting louder, the wailing getting stronger.

"fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck." I exhaled, finally speeding up again as she got back on her feet, her black, death contraptions swinging back and forth in her hands.

pants and curses were strung from our mouths as we saw a cop car in the near distance.

she caught up to me after a few seconds as we were running furiously in the cool summer air, I could feel leaves brushing my hands from the unkempt vine twisting around the iron fences.

as the sirens faded, we slowed down, instead of running we were jogging, and when we ran all the way to the park, we started to walk.

"Jesus," I panted, my heart beating faster than ever before. I swallowed, in need for water. the air I breathed tickled my dry throat.

she bit her lip, failing to stop the smile forming on her mouth. she laughed, and it sounded so wonderful in the air, echoing into the world.

"that was great." She blurted, causing me to chuckle and lace our voices together.

"didn't know you could run that fast, Hood." She joked, stopping by a bench sitting on the grass.

she sat down, placed her heels underneath the bench on the park pavement. she sighed as I walked to her and sat down beside her.

she frowned, "my feet are killing me." she whined, curling her toes.

"I fucking told you not to wear those heels." i deadpanned, my expression serious as she scoffed.

"I bought them, and I liked them, so I wore them."

"and now they're ruined."

"thanks." she mumbled, her head leaning on my shoulder. "what time is it?" She asked me, and I could feel her breath tickle my neck.

she yawned as I pulled out my phone.

2:34 am

I turned the screen toward her, and she laughed when she saw the time. "your mom is going to kill you." she smiled, her eyes glimmering with humor.

"she should have gotten used to it by now, I think she'll be okay. it's only when I'm with you, though." I admitted, my cheeks flaring.

she questioned me with an odd expression on her face, then giggled. "i've always wondered why your mom liked me, ever since we snuck away when we were eight I always assumed she wouldn't like me," she paused. "you know, for kidnapping her son." she joked.

i smiled, and leaned back as she breathed out. "cal."

I paused, and looked at her. Her eyes were wide and looking download I could see her smudged eyeliner. "yeah?" I whispered, my breath warm against the cool wind.

"give me your jacket, I'm cold."

I rolled my eyes. for a moment I thought something was going to happen... but, no. it would never. I shrugged off my jacket and placed it around her shoulders, covering her bare shoulders.

"do you wanna go home now?" I asked her, watching her as she slipped her arms through the jacket sleeves and brought her knees up to her chest.

"no." she said, her voice smaller this time. "let's just stay and watch the stars."

i felt a lump in my throat, and I blurted out something ridiculous. "you've got stars in your eyes." I commented, my pulse suddenly racing.

she bit her lip and laughed, then swung her head towards me, her brown eyes melting into mine. "that's because I'm looking at a galaxy."

i held my breath in, and everything stopped suddenly. she sighed, however, and started playing with her hair.

just as I was about to do something I would have regret, she spoke. "what do you want for your birthday?" she asked, twirling strands of her long brown hair in her fingertips.

I was momentarily stunned at the sudden change of topic, but mumbled along the lines of an "I don't know."

she sat up and smirked. "oh, I know." she laughed and when I asked her to tell me, she refused.

"it's got to be a secret, right Hood?" she brought her legs down, and kicked a few pebbles across the grass. "sixteen only comes once, and I'm going to make you so happy that you'll want to kiss me." she remarked, her white teeth shining in the moonlight as she laughed.

for fucks sake, I thought.

I already wanted to kiss her.

right sorry for not updating for like two weeks I was super invested in this and I wrote like half of this chapter and I just never finished it im sorry :-(

but I really like this story so I'm hoping to keep writing it and heyyoo calum's got some feelings for Noah this is where everything starts !! I found out how I want to write this fanfic and I'm super excited so please leave a comment and vote for this story because it helps me a lot ily guys
