Mikey got out of the car and came around to my side and helped me out. He took my hand and led me to where he wanted to take me. He stood behind me and slid his hands to my waist.
"You can take off your blindfold," he said into my ear. My fingers fumbled with the weak knot in the bandana and it broke free. My eyes took a second to adjust to the dark. I gazed around and I couldn't believe what I saw. There were lit party lanterns strung in a large square. There were speakers and two bottles of cherry soda on a small table. The stars shone brilliantly up ahead. I gasped. Mikey walked over to the speakers and put on Carolyn by Black Veil Brides.
"May I have this dance, my princess?" Mikey said, bowing down and holding out his hand.
"Of course you can, my prince," I said with a smile and took his hand. He pulled me into a dance. We waltzed around for a little, then he pulled me in close. I rested my head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arms around me. We stayed like that for a moment.
"Did you really spend five hours on this?" I asked.
"You betcha! You didn't really think I would just forgot about our special night did you? You mean more to me than anything."
"This is amazing," was all I could say.
He pulled me into a kiss and I couldn't fight back the tears this time. They streamed down my face and I let them. I gave him all the love I had. He deserved it. He had saved my life a several times. I loved him with passion I've never felt before. He was amazing. Truly amazing, and he made me feel the same way.
"I love you, Rose."
"I love you too, Mikey."
Here I was, with my perfect guy. Wearing my perfect dress. This was my perfect night.
