Okay, first off I'm so sorry. I know I've turned into THAT writer that takes an ungodly amount of time to update and that SUCKS. I never wanted to be that writer but here we are. How long has it been, Four, five months? I don't even know. I will say that I had a fairly decent excuse. I was gonna start writing this chapter in April but we ended up having to put our family dog of 11 years down. So, that kinda took over my life for a moment there, then corona is still happening, then the BLM movement distracted me, then I had a friend out from Michigan and I had to travel to Florida too for my moms job. I simply haven't been able to make time and I hope you can forgive me. But now I have a moment and inspiration so... let's get this started, shall we?
Any and all mistakes are my own.

Lucifer stepped out of the room, closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He stood there for a moment trying to gather himself. Opening his eyes, he took a look around the hospital. Everything is gray or white. Not only does it smell sterile but it also looks like it. Depressing. He spotted a coffee machine down the hall and he decided he needed coffee before he had this conversation. He walked down the depressing hallway looking at the boring art on the wall. He stoped at the machine and knew just by the look of it he would rather drink a glass of milk thats been sitting in the California sun for a week. Saying screw it, he found a bench, sat down and pulled out his phone.

He must've sat there staring at the screen for a while because the screen turned black. Unlocking his phone, again, he went to contacts and dialed Dr. Linda's work phone. After two rings she picked up the phone. "This is Dr. Linda Marten, how can I help you?" She said, ever the professional.

"Hello Doctor!" He said slipping a cheerful mask over his voice as he faked a smile.

"Lucifer? What can I do for you? This is obviously therapy related since you called on my work phone? Did something happen?" She said, immediately jumping into therapist mode.

Lucifer closed his eyes and prepared himself for the conversation that was about to take place. If there was ever a time to let his walls down it would be now. "Well..." he hesitated, "There is something that I haven't told you and it will no doubt come as a surprise but I suppose I can't keep this a secret anymore can I," he looked around as if he was about to say something he shouldn't. He decided he would just get it all out now. "I have a Daughter, her name is Persephone. I thought she died 13 thousand years ago but she just showed up at the precinct covered in blood and dirt. She passed out and now we're at The Good Samaritan and I have no idea what to do." He finished, breathing heavily after not taking a breath through his word vomit. Once he caught his breath he realized Linda still hadn't said anything. "...Doctor?"

He heard Linda take a deep breath on the other line. After a few moments she finally responded. "So let me get this straight, you have a daughter, whom you presumed to be dead but as it turns out she's not because she showed up at your work and now you're at the hospital?"

Lucifer thought it over in his head. "That sounds about right yes."

Linda was silent for about 20 seconds before answering, "Why am I even surprised."

"Honestly I don't know." He responded

"That was a rhetorical question Lucifer." She said with a huff of laughter.

He leaned over and put his head in his hand. "Right, I knew that."

Linda assessed the situation and decided that if not now then never. "Okay, so I'm gonna ask a few questions and I want you to answer them with the complete truth. No loopholes. Understand?" He answered yes. "Good, first question how do you feel seeing her and knowing she's alive after all this time?"
