After Andy was released from hospital, we spent the next couple of weeks staying with his parents, just to make sure he was well looked after. Andy still couldn't understand why his parents had flown to Glasgow over something 'so small' but I don't think he understood the severity his condition had reached at one point.
It was two weeks after the incident and we were just lying in his bed, cuddled up watching Netflix. I clung to my boyfriend like I was a sloth, scared that if I let go I would lose him again.
"Kaitlin?" he whispered.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"I'm sorry for everything" he sighed. "That stunt I pulled on the roof was stupid of me. I just, I don't want to imagine my life without you, baby."
I let out a sad sigh and looked up at him. "You're stuck with me now. I'm never letting you go again."
"I love you" he mumbled, pecking my lips. "So much."
"I love you too Andy" I replied, smiling, before resting my head on his chest again.
My phone vibrated on his bedside table and I reached for it, pressing my thumb against the Touch ID and reading the message.
Rye: We're almost there, keep him busy!
A small smile spread onto my face. The boys were coming over to surprise Andy, they hadn't seen him since he was released from the hospital as his parents didn't want to overwhelm him. Yes, he was 24 but his mum was still severely overprotective.
"Have I ever told you that you have a beautiful smile?" Andy asked, running his fingers through my hair. "It should be illegal for you to be so beautiful."
I blushed and covered my face. He chuckled and reached for my hands, pulling them away from my face and kissing them. I pressed a kiss to his forehead before climbing out of bed.
"Are you hungry?" I queried, wrapping my dressing gown around myself. "Do you want pancakes?"
"Sounds great!" he grinned, getting out of bed.
"No!" I exclaimed, warningly. "Get back in bed!"
"Kait, I'm fine" he laughed, putting on his slippers and his own dressing gown. "If I wasn't, they wouldn't have released me from the hospital."
"You know your mum is going to kill you when she sees you coming downstairs, right?" I warned.
"Yes" he chuckled. "but I can handle my mother."
I shrugged, deciding that it was his choice, and made my way downstairs with him following. We made our way into the kitchen and I greeted Mrs Fowler, stifling my laughter as her eyes widened in shock.
"Andrew Robert Fowler!" she shouted. "Get back to your room immediately."
"I'm not a kid anymore, Mum" Andy pointed out, wrapping his arms around my waist as I prepared the pancake mixture. "I promise I'm alright."
She sighed, staring at him with disapproval. "Fine. But the moment you feel even the slightest bit ill you go right back to bed!"
"Okay" he nodded in agreement.
She left the room, allowing me to let out my laughter. He chuckled at me, pressing a kiss to my neck as I poured a ladle full of mixture into the frying pan. Suddenly, the doorbell rang and a knowing smile spread across my face.
"Andy!" Mrs Fowler called. "Could you answer that please?"
"Yeah!" he shouted back, before leaving the kitchen to answer the door.
"SURPRISE!" I heard the boys yell, just as Andy shouted, "No way!"
They all came rushing into the kitchen, Rye and Brook with their arms around Andy as Jack and Mikey walked behind. I greeted them with a warm smile as they sat at the table, Brooklyn immediately began sniffing dramatically.
"Do I smell pancakes?" he asked, his voice hinting.
"Pancakes? Nah" I joked.
"Kaitlin, I can see the pancake mixture right next to you!" he protested.
"Then why did you ask in the first place?" I responded, amused.
"I--" he began, then stopped.
"Don't worry, Brook" I giggled. "I'll make another batch after this"
"Yesssss" he grinned. "Thanks!"
I finished making the pancakes then sat down with the boys, enjoying our catch up. It felt good to know that things were getting back to normal.
A/N: Okayyyy so I haven't updated this in like two years, so I thought I'd try and write another chapter. I was 14 when I started writing this, so I think my writing has changed a bit (hopefully for the better). Anyway, I'm not sure if anyone will read this but I thought I'd give it a go. Hope everyone's staying safe!
