Graduation

After 2 years

Time had passed so fast and as Zon recalled it had already been 2 years since the beach trip that he had been with Saifah. He recalled all those happy moments on the beach spent together and of course how could he forget that memorable night with Saifah and the promise that they made each other. Zon was tearing up having all those flashbacks because tomorrow was their last day of exams and he knew it was also Saifah's last exam which meant he would be graduating soon and leaving the college and he would be all alone now. The thought of that made him very sad not seeing him everyday in the campus, not having those lunches together every day even though their faculties was literally at the opposite end of the university just so they could spend at least half an hour with each other. He recalled all those days where he used to wait for him at the football field so that he could finish his practice and they could go to Saifah's dorm together. But now he thought that everything is coming to an end. Of course he would meet him outside college whenever he wanted but things wouldn't be as same as before because now Saifah would be busy in his internships and jobs. He feared what if Saifah changed after he left college?. What if he met someone else?. Some part of him thought he was being stupid in even thinking that Saifah would do something like this but his insecurities were always there. He was also frustrated because he hadn't spent alone time with Saifah since two weeks because of their exams. He tried to supress this as deep as possible and tried to focus on his studies since tomorrow was his last exam and he couldn't afford to screw it up now when he had done so well in his previous exams. He knew if he didn't focus now and didn't get good grades he would never hear the end of it from his parents and he wasn't ready for another problem for now. So he tried to focus on his studies and switched his cell phone ignoring any messages from his friends or Saifah because he wasn't ready to discuss all of this with them yet.

It was finally the day of their exams and Zon tried his best not to recall his worries from last night and tried to focus completely on his exams. He tried to escape Saifah on the campus as much as possible and finally went to take his exam. Finally after some struggling and pressuring his brain into reproducing the answers on his paper Zon completed his last exam and came out of the hall. He was relieved that he was finally free of his exams but the thoughts of last night were still on his mind. He came out to see all of his friends celebrating the end of their exams and the end of another year. They invited Zon to join them but he was in no mood to celebrate so he left them and started walking to his home. On his way he saw Saifah also celebrating with his friends, after all this was their last year in college and he was right to do it but somewhere in his heart he could feel the pain. He was staring to tear up again seeing Saifah enjoying with his friends. Saifah caught Zon's eyes and stood dead in his tracks worrying what was wrong with Zon. But Zon didn't stop to talk with Saifah and started walked away. Saifah ran behind Zon to talk to him to know why had he been ignoring him since yesterday. "Zon.........Zon wait up" he ran and stopped him by grabbing his arm. "Zon what's wrong. Why are you making a sad face? Exams are over cheer up!. And why have you been ignoring me since yesterday? I miss you so much" Saifah said by making a pouty face. Zon didn't give in to his puppy eyes and said "What is there to cheer up? If you want to enjoy with your friends go ahead and do it I'm not stopping you anyway". He realised that it came out way too harsh than he intended. People around them started looking at them and giving them looks. Saifah started to sense that something was wrong. "I think we should talk about this somewhere private, Zon. How about we go to my dorm and you tell me what is wrong?" Saifah asked Zon. Reluctantly Zon agreed to go with him. Once they were in Saifah's dorm Zon was still angry at him and sat on the edge of his bed hands folded close to his chest not looking at him.

Saifah pulled a chair close to him and rested his chin on Zon's hand making a pouty face.

"What's wrong, my Zon hmm?. Did I do something wrong? Talk to me please."

"Don't you know what's wrong? You're an idiot for still asking me this question" Zon said with his angry face. Saifah became sad after hearing this. He really didn't know what did he do wrong.

"If you don't tell me what's wrong how will I know Zon?"

Zon could no longer resist his puppy face. "Well, today was your last exam which means you will be graduating soon and leaving me all alone in the campus. I'm sad because I won't get to see you everyday. Don't you see I already miss you, you idiot." he said by headbutting Saifah softly which brought a smile on Saifah's face.

"Why are you smiling? This isn't funny Saifah."

"I know, I'm sorry. I can't help it if my boyfriend is so cute" Saifah said by pinching Zon's cheeks. "And don't worry about not seeing me every day. I will still be here. You can come to see me anytime."

"It still won't be same. We used to see each other everyday in campus, have lunch together. I feel like everything is changing." Zon raised his concern as subtly as he could without telling him that he worried Saifah would leave him one day.

"Hey look at me" Saifah said by cupping Zon's face looking in his eyes. "You don't have to worry about everything changing between us Zon. If I'm not with you all the time that doesn't mean my love for you will be any less. I will always love you and that will never change between us Zon" Saifah assured him. There were tears in both of their eyes.

"I'm sorry for doubting you but I'm just sad I guess. And don't get me wrong I am so happy for you that you will be graduating and get to pursue your dreams. But now I'm stuck in college a year without you."

"You don't have to apologise Zon. I can understand your feelings. Just talk to me next time okay?"

"Okay" said Zon and pressed their foreheads together with a smile on their faces. Zon kissed Saifah on the nose and this feeling was so overwhelming that Zon wished they could stay like this forever.

Saifah broke the silence by saying "Now why don't we celebrate the end of another year?"

Zon didn't understand what he meant and asked "What? How?"

"You know exactly how" Saifah said by raising his eyebrows with a smirk on his face. They were both giggling and Saifah brought his face closer to Zon and kissed him on the lips. Zon responded the kiss. Zon slowly parted his mouth to allow Saifah's tongue in and they both started kissing passionately with their tongue exploring each other's mouth. Saifah sat on the bed and pushed Zon on the bed on his back. Zon ran his hands on Saifah's back and slowly brought them into his hair and started tugging at his hair lightly. Both were moaning into each other's mouth breathless. Saifah pulled Zon's tie off his shirt and unbuttoned his shirt trailing kisses all over his jaw and neck and his chest. Saifah pulled apart to take his own shirt off. He looked Zon in the eye asking him whether it was okay. Zon nodded and before he continued he said "I missed this. I missed us. Do you know it was over 2 weeks that we hadn't spent time with each other?"

"I know I missed you too Sai. And do you promise we will stay like this forever?"

"I promise, my Zon."
