Chapter 7 - The Date

Taeyeon's POV:

I stopped the car's engine as soon as I reached the high class French restaurant Baekhyun brought Baekhyun in. I watched as he opened the car's door for my bestfriend.

A pain hit my heart while seeing Baekhyun smiling brightly at him with flustered cheeks. Why did I agree to follow them in the first place? Aware to the fact that I will just hurt myself for this, I know, I'm such an idiot.

'You will never know what will happen if you don't see it yourself'

As if on a cue, Heechul oppa's voice echoed inside me once again. It reminded me about Baekhyun's importance in my life.

I decided to follow them secretly. I wore my face mask and my jacket's hoodie. I gazed at my reflection at the side mirror, I seriously looked like Kakashi, that pervert guy in Naruto. I fixed my self before going out of the car and walked towards the resto's door.

"Wait.." The security guard stopped my entrance. He looked at me suspiciously, maybe because of my appearance.

I grabbed something in my pocket, it was my wallet. The guard became more suspicious because of my sudden action.

I lazily showed him my school ID for my identity. His eyes were widened as he read my name.

"Y-you are K-kim T-taeyeon..? The daughter of the Kim's?" He asked in a surprised tone.

I nodded my head and he got his mouth dropped. I entered the place without even caring of how dumbfounded he was. I spotted Baekhyun and Chanyeol ordering something on the table near the window. 

"How may I help you Maam?" A mascular voice came into my hearing. I turned and saw a waiter.

"I need a place near that table" 

"Please follow me"

He escorted me in the table next to where the two are. He also asked what would I order and I said a simple Foie Gras with drinks will do. 

I am facing Chanyeol and I can't see Baekhyun's face, only his back but I can clearly hear what they are saying. They are currently chatting about Baekhyun's background. By Chanyeols's facial expressions, I can sense that he's really interested.

"What do you think about Taeyeon-ssi? You guys seemed to be really close" He suddenly asked out of the blue.

My body instantly trembled of what will Baekhyuns answer be. Hre rarely talks about me to other people.

"Taeyeon? She's my childhood bestfriend and yes we are really inseparable. We first met at the subdivision where we both reside, she saved me from the bullies, I still can remember their leader's name, Kwon Jiyong"

"Jiyong? Isn't that the school's gangster?" 

"Yes he is"

"The nerves of that guy really, he's such a jerk"

"No need to bring it back, I've already forgiven him"

He's always like that when we are talking about Jiyong. It seems like he doesn't care about it anymore, but if that guy does something to him again, I swear to God I'll make his life a living hell.

Soon, our orders came, I silently ate but still I kept an eye on them. I watched as Chanyeol grabbed a tissue and wiped Baekhyun's lips, I guess he had a stain right there. And I can sense that Baekhyun is blushing hard right now, I just know him too well.

Chanyeol discussed about many things, it took them forever to finish their so called date. He drove Baekhyun home which I followed. 

"Thank you for the dinner Chanyeol-ssi" Baekhyun's eyes formed a crescent shape again.

"My pleasure, and please drop the honorifics Baekhyun, just call me Yeol" 

"Alright Yeol" 

"Goodnight Baekhyun" Chanyeol beamed his charming smile.

"Goodnight Yeol"

I watched them as Baekhyun kissed Chayeol's cheek and ran in his house. Chanyeol was left dumbfounded, he felt his cheeks and smiled. 

My eyes flooded with my tears but I didn't let them fall down again. I just let my heart be torn apart by the action.

Here I am, writing 'I'm sorry Mrs. Han, I'll do my homework next time, PROMISE" on the white board just because I didn't do my assignment. I was about to do my assignment last night when Baekhyun came and bragged about his first date. Oh well.. I can never bring back time.

"Taeyeon, are you alright?" A voice which came from my back asked. I turned my head and saw Jessica.

"Don't ask me, I don't have the answer"

She sighed before sitting at one of the chairs in front.

"You know what, I'm actually amazed at how you can handle this situation" She stopped and looked at me. "I know it Taeng, you're hurting, not just a bit but too much, and still, you can manage to look ok in front of him. Sometimes I wonder, do you ever wanna stop this pain you're feeling right now?" She added while I smiled sadly.

"I want it to stop, I would do everything just to stop it"

"Then why can't you just admit it to him?"

"I will lose him if I will.. and without him, I'm a huge disaster"

"But you can't have him forever Taeng"

"I know.. I will just cherish these times.. this pain Sica-yah, it's still not the worst pain I could ever feel"

"Do you think you're ready?"

"I don't know, but I know one thing, as long as he's in my side, I will be ok"

The Ice Princess let out a sigh, a big sigh to be exact.

"Taeng, my door is always open for you.. don't hesitate to knock.. you know I'm always here for you.."

"Thank you Sica-yah"
