Neptune's eyes flashed. He stood up, shaking. "Opal. I didn't know you had gotten to be such a salty bitch. If you want to steal my boyfriend from me, that's on you. If you want to crush my heart into paste inside my body as I live, whatever. But you keep your diseased hands off of Wilder! You've barely known him for five minutes, and now you're trying to do what you do to everyone else! You're a succubus, and I have absolutely no respect for you." He bristled in anger.
Wilder had a hand on his back, ready to pull him out of a fistfight if he decided to fly off.
Opal looked surprised. She curled her lip in disgust. "You know what, Neptune? I can do what I want, because this is my goddamn house. I didn't invite you, and what your man and I do together is none of your business. You broke up, remember?"
"No! I don't! We were together the night before he...they....decided to jump off of my pier! Again! Okay? So I'm the one left out of the loop, and that's fine!"
October moved into the room upon hearing their name. They surveyed the situation, and sighed. Neptune's eyes flooded with tears, but he didn't stop. "Maybe there isn't any reason to be in love anymore. We are told that it's hormonal and the only thing that exists now is lust. Lust, lust, lust! Wilder has the Lust mark! Guess what! He's not stealing my person from me! He's not over here trying to stick his dick in my soulmate!"
Wilder didn't know what to say. The energy in the room was palpable. Suddenly, there was a loud BANG from above...and then screams.
"That's the noise from my dream!" Wilder exclaimed. Pulling Neptune behind him, he dashed through the darkened corridor.
The five of them spilled out onto the street. Smoke smothered the marketplace. The fruit cart had been overturned, and melons and apples rolled every which way. People screamed and ran away from the street. Adonis was hunched over behind the broken cart, covering his head in his hands.
"Adonis! Get up!" Neptune and Wilder pulled the hulking man to his feet. Adonis wasn't just built. He was ripped.
"What happened?" Opal screamed as the city raid sirens started to wail.
"I'll explain later!" Adonis replied. "We have to get to the coast where my house is!"
"Go, go!" Opal cried, pushing him into the street.
Wilder, still holding onto Neptune, followed Adonis, October, and Opal, as Bee whimpered and said, "I'm going back down to the hideout Opal!"
"Suit yourself!"
They all followed Adonis into the rubble of the market street.
