He peers over the edge of the abandoned building's roof to see the jagged stakes he gathered and stuck into the ground with the crudely sharpened edges facing towards the sky. Boy, that's gonna hurt. Abruptly, he averts his attention from the ground and instead looks at the clouds. He gets distracted for a few seconds, but he did notice a cloud shaped like a rabbit.
He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes to calm his jittering nerves. He's always been afraid of heights, it didn't help at all when he knows that along with the height, there is also certain death.
"It only goes up from here." He exhales.
He thinks that deep down, this point forward will be the best period in his life, after all, he won't have one if he manages to do this.
He steps onto the creaking old roofs ledge, staring down at the gigantic murder needles and manages to smile with his dehydrated and crackling lips. And for once, it was a genuine smile.
"Oh merciful deities, grant me this one wish for quick, and painless deaths."
But alas, the poor boy was oblivious to what he had just wished whilst he tip-toed to the edge of the teetering roof tiles with a joyous smile. You would think that God's aren't like genies and wont look for loopholes. You would think that they wouldn't look more into the 'quick, painless deaths' part. But they do. Leave it to gods to misunderstand a child who wasn't taught proper wording and cheat him of his only wish.
All he wanted was a death that wouldn't allow him to suffer, as he already had enough suffering for a lifetime. Albeit, he could have just stabbed his heart since it would be quicker than gathering spikes and having to momentarily forget your fear of heights, but he wasn't even taught where his heart was, nor that he had one. His education was extremely flawed.
Before he could truly prepare himself for the fall, the tile he stood on gave in and slid out, making him tumble down the side of the building, screaming. The smile didn't last long since you can't really smile while screaming.
Anyways, the fall was not at all as graceful as he had imagined it would be. At least, in his imagination, he wasn't flailing all of his limbs and screaming like someone just stole his coins all the while vomiting on himself.
He was reaching nearer and nearer to the ground, which would naturally happen if you were falling. It would only take him 6 seconds until he gets impaled by those very dirty spikes. They would surely give him tetanus.
I'll admit, what he did was quite a feat at the time. He did 7 flips in less than 6 seconds midair, of course, he was also covered in his own vomit. Boy can't even hold his stomach.
After those 6 long seconds had past, that malnourished, dehydrated, underweight, vomit covered boy landed full speed onto a bed of jagged spikes. The splat was gruesome, it was truly the most disgusting thing ever, vomit and blood mixing together, the horrible smell of his bowels exploding on impact, organs and body parts sliding down the tetanus skewers, awful. I did get a little hungry when I saw that one spike strangely resembled a kebab, but I quickly lost my appetite.
The sight was gut wrenching, pretty soon I thought I'd be covered in my own vomit too. All in all, the worst part was having to watch the dismembered limbs suction cup back together by slithering towards the biggest pieces in a pool of vomit blood. The sound was appalling. Never have I ever heard the hotchpotch of recreation, and I wish I hadn't.
It was like a video was set to rewind, but 10 times faster and 100 times grosser. Have you ever seen someone have their mutilated body and organs reform while it's impaled by 9 different spikes and covered in various body fluids? Yeah, I didn't think so.
It didn't take long for his body to be back in one piece, although his stomach and gut were now empty. His blood, vomit, and emptied bowels were still on the spikes or on the ground, but not on him, no, he was clean. He wasn't impaled by the spikes anymore either, he was just to the side of them, traumatized as fuck.
