'True freedom is to have power over oneself for everything.' -Michel De M.

Many figures in history like Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi fought for the State of freedom. Heroes for some, villains for others. These people stood up for autonomy of their nation, be it any race or religion. Sweating night and day towards one goal; Freedom.

Places like Syria, Palestine, Kashmir still shed blood struggling for what we take for granted; Freedom.

So, what is freedom?

According to many people,

'Freedom is the art of acting without constraint' -Zareen K.

'It is to mould our lives into series of independent actions' -Unknown

Freedom is a wonderful and intimidating word. The ability to stand at the horseshoe of the ocean, breathe in salty air of the sea. The ability to express without fear what you feel. The capability of munching on snacks you like. All these small gestures which might classify you as a free person, yet more than a 1/3 of the world's population lack these blessings, either repressed by governments, societies, races or religions. Many of them subjected to slavery, trafficking or simply victims of worldy wars. So I suppose if you're reading this, YOU are liberated from the cages of superior repression.

Now, what do I mean by repression?

Dictionary speaking, repression is subsiding someone by using force.

So where exactly does my mind take me? People...Of course, but do you really believe people are worth to be the basis of all our problems?

'The state of freedom begins with the core of our minds.' -O.H.M.Y

Freedom is a mental state that people like you and me take for granted. We praise our fighters for their works toward the privilege of independence, yet we cage yourselves in our own minds!

We're trapped behind those bars so much so that all we hear is the rattling of steel and think up as we tried to escape. We live in cages with bars built from our own doubts and fears. We often believe that saying 'Yes' is a way to be liked, to be respected and earn the title of being 'Saint'. However, at the end our souls feel empty and we are left with nothing but dead shells.

Oppression of any kind: being criticised, toxic relations, mental, financial or physical abuse, a repetitive routine or people that 'mean well' in a non loving way, is what makes us feel prisoned. There are a million things that I can go on about. But what matters is what makes you feel trapped?

Jot a list of reasons you feel that has put you in shackles, Talk about them! Because nothing shouts louder then a quiet mouth. Feel them! Assess them! Know that they are important. What's crucial is that YOU are free.

15 minutes is all I ask for, Dive deep, emancipate yourself from mental slavery. Choose your fight because none but ourselves can free our minds.

Assess the feelings that you have imprisoned in yourself. Now tell me are you REALLY free?

"Freedom is the right balance between Your rights and responsibilities, while being the purest form of yourself " -O.M
