There are many thing we are told about, warned about. In today's world loving oneself is one and most important. All of us had our shares of lectures on how 'self-centered' and 'self-pitied' we are. Mostly by parents, teachers and people we call "friends". We are told to get our act together and love ourselves.

Loving is an act of appreciating someone or something, adoring it with it's perfections and imperfections, flaws and beauty.

A mantra I've heard through out my teens. Confused onto what Loving yourself actually meant, was another reason to fill in the pot of hatred. I was convinced I was dimwit, unable to understand how someone could love themselves.
What they don't get is. We need to be taught how to love ourselves, rather than know what self love is. In the continuous hustle of life, many of us drag through the days; lost, tired and sick of being lost and tired. Irritability of life, topping off with rather superfluous pressure of "self love" can without a doubt lead many to risky and inappropriate decisions.
Regardless of what everyone says. YOU are not obliged to love yourself. YOU are under no pressure to get rid of the confusion, discomfort and hatred you feel. YOU are not bound to accept everything. It is okay, completely, utterly fine to carve your path bit by bit.

Learn to embrace the feelings, get to know yourself, accept it. One can never win a war with the enemy sitting indoors. Learn to love your flaws. You don't have to stand in front of mirror daily to do that, inner beauty doesn't show in reflections, it reflects in your acts. ALL of you have the best of yourselves, some on display, others tucked away. Everyone is beautiful in some aspects of life, everyone is ugly in others. It is okay to be ugly too, actually it is PERFECT to be ugly and bad. It is who you are and trust me it is AMAZING, no matter what.

You don't have to fit into the world's criteria to love yourself. You don't have to be the definition of ideal or good to love yourself. You have to appreciate your satanic side too.
Express yourself, there are many people who would love to hear you out. Surround yourself with people who value you, as the angel and the devil.
