"Yah, Y/n! Wait up," Taehyun called from behind.

Y/n didn't look back as she picked up her pace. Taehyun called for her once more, only to receive a short response. "Just leave, Tae."

At this time, Taehyun figured out what was inside her mind that made her act like this. He did not expect to be the sudden barrier between Kai and Y/n, but he had to be. Because Kai was so arrogant and cruel towards her.

He had to be her knight in shining armor and do his best to protect the woman he loves. Even if it means to lose a friend of his.

Yeonjun would freak out if he finds out that Kai and Y/n's relationship is getting worse. But, Taehyun couldn't do something other than being a knight to her.

"Hey," he stopped when he held her wrist and forced her to look at him. Seconds passed, Taehyun stared at her crying state.. again.

He was speechless for the hundredth time. Witnessing how those tears trickled down on her rosy cheeks as she attempted to hold her sobs. Taehyun's eyes were mirroring the sadness visible in hers.

He had this question in his mind that showed his fragile side: Why? Why does it have to be me? Why do I have to see her cry for someone else?

"Kang Taehyun, please," she pleaded, "Just leave me alone."

Because of what happened at the shore, the alcohol in Y/n's body seemed to be washed away.

As for Taehyun, he wanted to listen to her and just leave. However, his inner self told him to stay by her side. She was broken, just like him. Letting her wander in this cold night would worsen her state.

He couldn't imagine Yeonjun's reaction if he sees his sister being like this, and so Taehyun decided to take her somewhere else.

He walked closer and offered his left hand, "Come."

Y/n hesitated before looking at him and to his hand, extending forward. "Come with me," he smiled weakly, trying to hide the despair visible in his gaze.

He led her to his car which was parked at the far end of the venue's parking lot. He made sure that she was sitting comfortably before making his way to the driver's seat.

He drove off and exited the lot.

Taehyun brought her to a place where she could cry as long as she wanted. Away from the city, they headed towards a hill, rising above the usual height of the ground. It's a cliff.

As they went out, the cold breeze welcomed them once again. Taehyun eyed Y/n who was slowly walking forward. She sat down on the grass, hugging her knees as she gazed down at the beautiful city, with its lights shining brightly.

"Sit with me," Y/n said, looking over her shoulder as Taehyun gulped in lowkey surprise after getting caught that he was staring at her already.

Shrugging of his train of thoughts, he took off his coat and gently laid it on her shoulders. With the sudden warmth, Y/n directed her eyes to the side as Taehyun sat down beside her.

Taehyun's presence was enough for her. With him always saving her from everything, it felt like Taehyun covered up Kai's absence.

"I wish I could turn back time," she suddenly blurted out.

The lad furrowed his eyebrows, "Why?"

Y/n beamed at him, melting his heart to its weakest point. "Because I regretted many things. He could not fulfill his promises as my fiancé, now how can he be a good husband to me?"
