Melody

This was possibly one of the best nights of my life. Never had I broke so many rules in a single night. There was a time in my life when I would have never even thought to pull a stunt like I had tonight. I had to always be prim and proper and put on a show, especially at these events. That all changed three years ago though when I met Kevin. He brought out a rebellious side of me I never knew existed before, and I found I changed completely. He drove me crazy in the best of ways, and I became addicted to him. I found myself wanting him no matter where I was or who I was with.

I knew early on that I was in for trouble with him. He always pushed the boundaries and teased me endlessly wherever we went, and then I started doing the same. He made me want to do crazy things in crazy places. Little did he know I had planned on doing this with him for months, but had always backed out of my plan. I had never had the courage to do so until now. But watching him tonight the erg to make it happen was so overwhelming that I had no choice. I had to make it happen, and so my plan slowly unfolded right before my very eyes.

As I walked quickly to the bathroom I felt so energized and alive. I was on such a high I didn't know if I could ever come down. He was the only thing on my mind as I moved swiftly through the crowd of people before me. I smiled and waved at guests as I passed by, but I made no move to stop.

After clean up in the bathroom and briefly having to stop to talk to someone my father introduced me to, I finally managed to make it back to the balcony. I opened the door slowly this time. I knew he wasn't doing anything this time. I found him leaning against the wall again taking in the view. The moon was covered with dark clouds and the air was crisp with the night's cool air.

He straightened when he saw me and walked over to the middle of the balcony. He took me in as he outstretched a hand, as if beckoning me to him. I stayed put, playing innocent. He laughed, a rich sound. I chuckled lightly with him. He held his hand out to me again, and this time I walked over to him. I swung my hips, just enough that he noticed, then I took his hand gently. He pulled me close, and started leading me into a dance.

"What are you doing?" I asked him, curiosity dripping from my voice. I had always loved dancing with him; it was so passionate, so erotic. It made my body hum with desire.

A few years ago we had taken a ballroom dancing class together. I had already known how to do all the dances as I grew up taking those types of classes. I loved to dance so much I had become a professional and often competed around the country. Kevin had only known the very basics of the waltz. It wasn't even enough to be able to dance at one of my father's extravagant banquets. One he got started though, we found out he was a natural and he took it in quickly.

He could make the most passionate of dances look even more so. Our connection was undeniable when we were dancing. The chemistry between us made others stop and stare. We had eyes only for each other, and everyone knew it.

I pulled myself from my thoughts as he spun me around and dipped me low landing in the safety of his strong arms. I giggled again.

"Isn't it obvious? We're dancing," he laughed again wrapping his arms tighter around me.

"Yes, I can see that, but why?' We don't even have any music," I teased him playfully.

"Because we can. I have something for you." I tightened my arms around him with excitement. He was constantly gifting me little things. He made no move for anything, so I gently laid my head on his chest. I could hear his heart beating, a steady and strong rhythm. He was so tall, even in my towering heels he stood far above me.

We swayed back and forth slowly just loving each other, enjoying this moment. "Sing for me Kevin. Sing our song." He chuckled a little, but cleared his throat and fulfilled my request.

"Hopelessly, I'll love you endlessly," He began at the chorus, his rich and husky voiced filled my ears. I listened closely, hanging on every word. "Hopelessly, I'll give you everything. But I won't give you up, I won't let you down, and I won't leave you falling. If the moment ever comes. "He finished on a whisper as he pulled away from me.

My eyes snapped to his as he sank down onto one knee. His hand slid into his pocket searching for something, and when he pulled out a small black box and opened it, my heart skipped a beat. Inside that box was the most beautiful ring I had ever seen. A huge sparkling diamond sat inside of a beautiful golden frame. It twinkled as the lights from the garden bounced off of it.

I gasped at the sight of it, and my heart raced in my chest. Tears filled my eyes, and I blinked rapidly trying to fight them off. A sob of happiness formed in my throat, but I swallowed it back. He was proposing!

He smiled at my reaction and took my hand in his. "Melody," he chocked out. Tears flooded his eyes as well. I felt the tears stream down my face at the sight of his. He cleared his throat and collected himself. "Melody, these last three years have been the best of my life. I have felt things for you that I have never felt with anyone else before. I have done things with you that nobody could have ever gotten me to do. And I have seen things that I never would have wanted to see with anyone but you."

I couldn't stop the sob that escaped me as my body shook. Tears streamed freely down my face, burning my eyes. I tried to say his name, but only another sob came out.

"Every day that I am with you my feelings grow stronger, even when I think it's not possible to love you even more than I already do. I want to do and see more with you. I want to hold you, and start a family, and travel the world with you by my side. Melody, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. You are my everything, my future." Tears ran down his face too as his rough voice cracked with each word. His eyes were lit up.

"Melody, Will you spend the rest of your life with me? Will you marry me?"

I didn't even hesitate to scream out "yes," and jump up and down with pure excitement. I didn't even try to contain or compose myself. He stood quickly and wrapped his arms around me squeezing me and kissing me deeply. With shaky hands he slipped the ring on my finger.

"I love you so much Kevin," I told him through my crying.

"I love you to Melody. I can't wait to start my life with you, as your husband."

We spent the rest of the night looking over the balcony, his arms wrapped tightly around me warming me in the cold air. It wasn't until my father came looking for us that we had realized how late it was. The banquet was almost over, but there was enough time left for my father to announce our engagement.

A few hours later Kevin and I were able to finally go home, where we made love two more time. We couldn't get enough of each other. Neither of us could stop smiling.

I woke up in the morning to the sound of him singing our song softly. His hand was running through my hair, and our bodies were still tangled together. My face was buried in his chest and I breathed in deep smelling his husky sent. My eyes fluttered open, still heavy with sleep. I tilted my head up to look him in the eyes, and he stopped singing to smirk at me.

In that moment I knew that no matter what happened or what problems we faced, Kevin and I would always be together. I believed we were truly made for each other, and I believed we would love each other endlessly.
