Third person POV:
While Winter went to get ready to see Carmelo and Kathy, Lucian sat in his home office sorting through papers and came across a newspaper. The headlines read "The Red Wedding" and made him cringe. He hadn't talked much about the wedding since it happened and wanted to forget the whole ordeal all together. He decided to read through the article and as he opened the paper, Winter walked back into the room. Seeing the front page headline, she felt sick to her stomach.
"What the fuck is that? Why do you have that? What the fuck is "The Red Wedding"?" She mumbled in a whisper almost. She tried to avoid anything related to that day.
"Don't worry about the paper, it's fine. Just throw it away." Lucian said with the wave of a dismissive hand, feeling weird about having this conversation with her.
"No, I want to read it. Can I read it?" She asked, coming closer to him.
He handed her the paper warily, hoping that the article doesn't upset her too much. They'd been getting along well enough and he didn't want her to have another reason to run away again.
The article read:
"The Red Wedding"
Young billionaire Lucian Alatorrie wed mystery woman on a private estate in South Africa. The grand event is more spectacular when the bride enters the room. Clad in a red custom made Oscar De La Renta gown, snatching the attention of the entire room. When vows were exchanged, the bride professes her love for her groom, but strangely enough also professes her love for the young Luciano Alatorrie as well, Throuple? And after the throuple leaves the venue, the bride disappears for the rest of the night and both brothers return. Trouble in paradise already?"
Winter's hands begin to shake with every line of the article that she read. She instinctively runs a finger over her face where a jagged scar ran across.
"Wow, they called it "The Red Wedding", I guess they got the punchline huh?" She chuckles humorlessly to Lucian as he watches her carefully run her finger over the light pink raised scar along her face.
Before he can answer, the sound of Carmelo's voice breaks through the silence. In a panic, Winter balled the paper up and shoves it away.
"Mi hermosa hija, estás en casa. ¿Dónde has estado?" Carmelo says to Winter as he places large hands on her shoulders, not even really looking over her.
(My beautiful daughter, you are home. Where have you been?)"Oh papa, I've missed you so much. I am home, and I've been in Spain with Luciano, just letting things cool down." It was then Carmelo looks really looks at Winter, and when he notices her stomach he sucks in a sharp breath but before he can ask, Kathy and Lucy run into the room, pulling Winter in a strong embrace.
"Oh my god, my baby is home. Oh I've missed you. Look at you, you are absolutely glowing." Kathy says laying kisses all over her face.
"Mama, Lucy... I've missed you both so much. I am fine, I was spending some time in Spain with Luciano as I just told papa."
Kathy takes a step back and gasps covering her mouth. "Oh, Dulce hija. You are pregnant. How many months?" She asks Winter.
(Sweet daughter)"Kathy, do not pester the girl, you just got here for fucks sake. Why don't we freshen up and then talk later on, si?" Says Carmelo, seeing how flustered Winter had become.
"Fuck you and suck my dick, I haven't seen my sweet girl since, well you know. Come, dulce hija, we'll leave the men to talk." Winter nods her head while grinning, and follows Kathy and Lucy out of the room.
Once the room is empty, Carmelo turns to Lucian and automatically asks the question burning on the tip of his tongue.
"So, she's been in Spain this entire time with Luciano. Which of my sons will be providing me a little el nieto?" This makes Lucian groan and roll his eyes, already regretting inviting them to his home.
(grandchild)"The timeline adds up with the wedding, and neither her nor Luciano confirms or denies having relations with each other, although I am almost sure they did. So I'm not sure but more than likely the child is mine." Replies Lucian, rubbing over his face.
"Well, have you guys talked about it? Or talked about the wedding? I see that she's here and being her normal self. Had she forgiven you?" Carmelo starts shooting out more questions.
"Father, we haven't talked about anything pertaining that day and I think she would prefer not to so I don't push it. She seems fine to me for the most part, and she has forgiven me." Lucian says, standing from his seat.
"I am going to make a run father. I have a meeting for the closing on the new estate, and some business about that drug shipments we have taken over. So I must be going. Do not let Winter off the property, fucking press has been all over the damn place." Carmelo mock salute's Lucian, chuckling.
"Sir yes sir, see you for dinner?" Lucian rolls his eyes and nods while making his way out of the room.
