Chapter 17 - The Watch Shop

It's Monday and I'm sitting in my newly appointed office. It's wonderful with its sleek modern design. I have a cute white desk that is situated in front of the long glass windows that gives off this wonderful natural light and has such an amazing view of the city. I have some other office stuff like a white shelving unit, white filing cabinet, and two white armchairs that are on the opposite sides of a round glass coffee table. But the best thing is that I no longer have to be in the same office as Gabriel anymore. Sure it was nice to sit there and see his sexy face but with his constant mood swings, it would be nice to be able to have some breathing space away from him.

I've finished all my morning tasks easily, now that I don't have a whole event to plan there's not much for me to currently do right now. To my annoyance, Gabriel thinks there no point giving me another big project as we are going to fly out Wednesday night to his family's house. I don't want to go but it would appear that I don't have much of a choice. If you receive a black invitation apparently it's not something you can decline and if I don't turn up then they will send someone to come and personally bring me there, yes kidnap me. When I try to explain to Gabriel that that would be kidnapping, he laughed like I was missing the world's biggest joke, well when I found out what that joke was I finally understand why I didn't get it. Money, oh the power of money, so if you just happen to have money it's fine you can go about kidnapping whoever you want. Isn't that just such a funny joke.

So it looks like Wednesday evening I'll be going to meet Gabriel's dad, not just his dad but his whole family. I must admit I am looking forward to meeting Gabriel's mother though. The way Gavin made it seem she really did want to help Gabriel and sounds like she does genuinely care for him but her family reputation and most probably love for money was just a tad bit more important then Gabriel. I wish I didn't have such a negative opinion on his family without meeting them but what else can I think they thought it was fine to leave their son to struggle rather than help him. As much as I hate to be this person I know for a fact that Gabriel's father and I are not going to get along unless Gavin made everything up which I highly doubt there is nothing in this world that would ever make me like this man. Not even his money that he seems to think can always save the day.

Firstly I don't know how I will be able to act like a respectable guest but I'm also certain Gabriel will not be happy if I embarrass him in front of his family regardless of anything I am still his PA and I still have to uphold the businesses reputation. I'm just hoping that his father and family will also act like respectable host and treat Gabriel correctly, it seems like such a far stretch especially if his father thinks it's okay to kidnap people who want to decline an invitation sent to them. As you can see I'm not over that. Secondly, what am I going to wear, they do not seem like the type of people that I can easily trick with a couple of fancy designer outfits. Oh please, these people have been doing rich for longer then I have been born, they will most likely to spot how poor I am before I even disembark the private jet, yes they're sending us a private jet to bring us to their private island where their family house is. Now can you understand why I'm obsessing over something as simple as what am I going to wear?

"Miss White I am failing to understand why you didn't answer your office phone which then resulted in me having to leave my office to get the attention of my PA. I didn't hire you to daydream. Now get ready, if you were doing your job properly you would of realize we need to leave for a business meeting with hopefully a new client." Gabriel was standing at my office door looking highly annoyed. I completely forgot that this morning we both agreed as I won't have much work to do I would be accompanying him to all his off-site meetings to take notes. I didn't want to do this Gabriel has been acting completely strange from this morning for example he apparently let the staff communicate with him and even had a whole conversation with the receptionist. Even though at first everyone was scared and worried that if they replied they would have gotten fired but to everyone surprise Gabriel was apparently very encouraging and prompting the staff to have a full-blown conversation with him. Resulting in the downstairs receptionist to get cocky and clearly out of her place. If you didn't know Gabriel would never allow any of the staff members to even greet him and it has been this way since he's open his business.
