(This story isn't accurate to real life events so just roll with it)

The couple walked up to the orphanage with a child in hand. They never wanted to do this but it was the only way. Jenson was a 19 year old racing driver on his way to the top and his childhood best friend & newly announced girlfriend, Eliza, was an 18 year old university student. There was no way for them to care for the little girl and with much encouragement from their families, they decided to give up their child.

"Do we really have to do this?" Eliza turned to ask Jenson.

"I don't like this anymore than you do sweetheart but with me entering Formula one next year and you in the middle of education, we won't be able to look after her properly. This is her best chance." It stung Jenson so much to say it and he would always hold a special place in his heart for the little girl.

They stopped at the top step and placed the basket, with the child in, down. Eliza picked up her baby and held her close,

"I will always love you, Y/N. Never forget it." She kissed the babe's forehead before Jenson came and kissed the child too.

"I'm so sorry little one. I love you and must give you your best chance, and this is it. Maybe one day we will meet again."

They placed the girl back in her basket before placing two letters next to her. (A/N - Harry Potter vibes - not intentional) They said one last goodbye before ringing the doorbell and running to the shadows of the street corner. They watched as a middle aged woman opened the door and found the crying child. As soon as the door closed and Eliza couldn't see her kid anymore, she burst into tears and sobbed into Jenson's shoulder.

When Y/N was six she was finally adopted by a wonderful couple. For years they wanted a child of their own but when they found out they couldn't they decided to adopt. They went to adopt a newborn but when the husband saw the six year old girl, he was reminded of his own time in the foster system and didn't want the poor girl to go through the same thing.

Y/N was ten now and didn't know she was adopted. She didn't remember much of the place she lived before but didn't mind it. When she was seven, she had gone karting with some friends and found something she loved so much. She continuously pursued it and her parents agreed that she was old enough to take part in competitions.

Y/N had developed an interest in motorsports and loved to watch all the different cars race around a track. She studied the rules and flags of each sport and loved every bit of it. Her favourite motorsport was the formula series. She found that most interesting and so Y/N aimed to become one of them.

By the time she was fourteen Y/N had taken part in four different karting championships and had won two back to back championships. Formula 4 had heard all about this amazing girl, with such skill and saw it as an opportunity to start introducing females to the male dominated sport.

Y/N took the opportunity as a way to reach her dream and did well. In her first year, Y/N had become second in her regions championship and took the championship win in her second year. Alongside all of this, she was finishing off her GCSEs so that she could have some qualifications of some sort.

On April 14th, she had her 16th birthday which her friends made a big fuss over. They had a little party to celebrate with lots of food and cake and other things! Her parents gave her a letter that had the phrase 'For your 16th birthday xx' on the front of the envelope. It was a letter from her birth parents. Y/N learnt she was adopted when she was 13 so this letter felt very important to her.
