Thistle House-July 28
*3am*
Cheryl:
I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, but that was over an hour ago and I still couldn't go back to sleep. Suddenly, I heard something, so I got up and walked out of my room where everything was eerily dark. I walked to Toni's room to see if maybe she'd heard it too or if maybe it was her getting up, but no luck as she was sound asleep. I poked her side and she didn't move, so I decided to leave her be. I'm probably just freaking out.*6am*
Cheryl:
I woke up fairly early despite being up most of the night, but I just decided to get up. I went downstairs for breakfast and was shortly joined by Toni. "Morning," I say as I make some eggs, for some reason I felt like cooking today.
"Morning," she said as she got some coffee. "What's the occasion?" She said nodding towards the skillet laughing.
"Nothing, I just felt like it."
"Okay," she says as I serve the eggs on plates, leaving some for Nana, who normally slept later than us.*1:30pm*
Toni:
I went to get some water and saw the eggs still in the skillet on the lowest power to keep them warm. "Cheryl," I called to her from the kitchen. "Nana Roses eggs are still here." I say as she walks into the kitchen. We both look at each other, then run to her bedroom. Nana Rose was passed out on the floor. "Nana!" Cheryl is running to her screaming and crying because unlike most of her family, she actually loved her Nana. "Calm down Cheryl," I say, knowing that's impossible. I call 9-1-1 and explain what has happened.
*3pm*
Cheryl:
We're still in the waiting room after and hour and a half. "Toni, I don't want to go back to the haunted walls of Thistlehouse. Not after this." She looks at me concerned.
"Well, we have to go somewhere."
"I have an idea." I pull out my phone and call my dear cousin Betty. She answers immediately.
"Cheryl? What's up." I take a deep breath and explain the whole situation. "You can stay with us, we have room."
"Are you sure?"
"It's okay, really Cheryl, don't worry about it."
"Thank you cousin," I say.
"Do you want us to help you pack?"
"We're still at the hospital, I'll let you know."
"Okay, bye Cheryl,"
"Bye, cousin." I hang up and look at Toni,
"What was that about,"
"We're moving in with Betty and the fam," she just stares at me,
"When?"
"I don't know, but we can pack later." Suddenly, a doctor approaches us.
"I'm sorry, Ms.Blossom." I just nod. I wasn't surprised, but I had to know,
"Do you know the cause of death?"
"It was probably her sundowners syndrome acting up, it seems she fell sometime around 3am......." I tuned out. That's what I heard, I suddenly felt guilty. I could have saved her, but I didn't.Cooper-Jones House-July 30
Betty:
"I don't know, Mom, she said sometime today," it was all very last minute and we were all rushing around making sure rooms were ready. Ding Dong. "I'll get it," I call to anyone who's listening since my mom has since left the room.
"Hey Cheryl, Toni." Toni smiles.
"Thank you so much cousin," I nod,
"Of course," I let them in, "let me show you were you'll be staying." I lead them through the house and lead Toni to Polly's old room, who was currently in a mental institution and would be for a while. "You'll be staying here," I say opening the door.
"Thank you Betty," I nod,
"Of course, I'll leave you to get settled." Cheryl and I keep walking and I take her to my room. "You were going to get Jellybean's room, but she's coming back in a few weeks from staying with her mom, so you'll be with me instead." She looms around the room and pulls me into an unexpected hug.
"Thank you, cousin,"
"I'll be downstairs if you need me," I say leaving her to get settled as well. I stop at what was now Toni's room to tell her the same thing, but hear slight sobs, so I slowly open the door.Toni:
Betty walks in, and sits next to me,
"Are you okay," she asks. I shake my head.
"It's just so soon and it seems so surreal." the tears start coming faster, "Nana Rose was like a parent to me, she let me live with them upon realizing I lived in Sunnyside Trailer Park by myself and had for most of my life." I wipe my eyes, "It was like I finally had a family and now that's gone." Betty looks at me understandingly,
"Well, we're your family now, and we won't leave you in the dust." I smile at her.
"Thanks Betty," I wipe my eyes,
"I'll be downstairs if you need anything." I smile,
"Thanks," And she leaves me to unpack.Dinner
Alice:
"How are you girls settling in?" They both nod at me,
"Just fine," Toni, responds. This was a crazy day, first, was the somewhat-small ceremony for Nana Rose, then, FP called and said the Ghoulies were back in town, thankfully he got rid of them, and then Toni and Cheryl moved in. Ding Dong. Everyone looks at each other confused, who could it be. I get up to get it. "Archie?!" I lead him to the table and give him some food. "What brings you here?" Archie looks nervous for some reason
"It's my mom, she just ditched me and moved back to Chicago for some case and I can't just stay in a house by myself." We all look at each other. I look at FP who just shrugs. "You can have Charles' room," I smile. As if the day could get any crazier. We continue to eat dinner as if we're one happy family.*So, if you didn't notice, Choni was never a thing and she lived there because of Nana Rose. Is Mary actually there for work? Is she even in Chicago? Keep reading to find out. Hope you liked it*
*Also, I know it's lame for Archie to move because his mom left since he was alone most of junior year, and always stayed home when his dad went out of town, but I needed something*
