Poor mamma Lou had let us in
She let us in to drink and eat
Not realizing we boys loved to sin
And she would wast the night in defeat.
We ate all the toast
From the pantry door.
We ate the fig roast
Behind the fridge door.
We drank all the milk
That she freshly gained.
And we ruined the silk
Which is now stained.
We laughed and we chatter
As we drank our ale,
But Momma Lou yelled scatter,
But to no prevail.
We ait all the cheeze
That she hid in a sheet,
And we drank all her ale.
Was she feeling defeat?
We giggled and sang
As poor momma Lou cried,
And then the door rang
Making Lou's eyes go wide.
More of our brothers came in
And tossed off their hats,
Not a single one thin
Spreading mud on Lou's mats.
We drank all the drink
And we ate all the food,
Too happy to think
We were in a good mood,
But Momma Lou stormed in
Swinging an old mop
Then started hitting my kin
Shouting "This has to stop"
"You drank all my drink
And you ate all my food"
Our awful hearts started to sink
Scared of poor Lou in her mood.
"Now clean up my house" poor momma Lou said
Then whacked me in the spine,
And she walloped my aching head
Shouting "And buy me bread and wine"
We came back the next day
Not an hour past sunset.
We had nothing to say
That wouldn't make her upset.
We gave her fresh bread
And gave her the best wine.
Then she kissed my forehead
Saying "You boys are fine"
