Chapter 9

I felt the figure running behind me. "Carmen!" The tall person called, sounding rather familiar. I turned round and it was Michael. "Oh my god Michael! I thought that you were a randomer, trying to kidnap me or something." I exclaimed."sorry I didn't mean to startle you. I was walking home and thought that I would catch up with you." He explained. I nodded with a sigh of relief. I text Ashton, telling him that Michael was walking me home.

I got in and text Beth, telling her that they were surprisingly good, and the fact that I thought I was being followed. She sounded as shocked as me. I lay on my bed, reflecting on today. Let's just say that it was very eventful!

Friday morning.

I was feeling lazy. So I put on sweatpants and a band tee. I waited on Beth to pull up outside. Around 8AM, she turned up outside. I was tired so we stopped at Starbucks and I got a double shot latte. We parked in the usual spot and walked in to school, going to our first period classes. I had math, and let me say, it is the worst subject by far. I was in a different class from Beth, so I sat myself. Until Mr Franta decided to move Calum next to me.

"So Carmen, did you like our band? I know it super lame idea... but we just love music ya know.." He trailed off. I gave him a nod and got ok with my work. Soon, the lesson was over and break was here.

I walked over to Beth, just a usual day. "Carmen, wanna come and stay at my house tonight?" Beth asked "yeah. I will," I replied. Music was next and it was a double period. The bell rang and I trudged along to music. I sat down beside Michael, who was humming a song.

Michael's POV

I'm going to do it, I told myself. I'm going to ask her out. All that's in my mind is the fear of rejection. Every time she walks in the room she has all eyes on her and she knows it. But she blocks that out. I have a wave of nausea whenever she is near and I need to sort it. I just hope that she feels the same. She walked into class and sat down beside me. Her presence made me feel insecure and light headed. " Hi," I smiled. Oh god did that creep her out? She then whisoers a gentle hello. Through the double period we mashed to finish the full song.

We were overjoyed that we finished it, all that was left to do was record it and hand it in. Now I have to ask her out I'm petrified of the outcome whether good or bad.

Miss Young says we could stay behind at lunch to record, so we did. Carmen sang her part and I sang mine. There was only one microphone, so we had to share. We both leaned in when it was the chorus, and I couldn't hold it. My lips smashed against hers and the outcome was surprising...
