Today Manny was going to spend the day with Luke at his house, and I had to go shopping with Gloria because 'having two shirts and two pants isn't enough for a respectable girl.' Come on. I don't need more. But I didn't wanna fight with Gloria, so I was going to tolerate one of the things I hate most in the world.
"I wish I could stay home with you and fly toy airplanes." Manny spoke.
"These aren't toy airplanes, Manny. These are models, and they're very complicated." Jay explained. "You wanna fly one of these, you gotta be familiar with airfoil, drag, lift and thrust, and these are all principles of aerodynamics."
"The box says '12 and up'." I told him.
"What?" Seeing his confusion, I pointed the inscription with my finger.
"You can fly toy planes with Jay next time. Today you have to spend time with Luke." Gloria explained.
"Why? And why Celia has the privilege to not go?"
"I actually want to go, dumbass." I said to him.
"Because his mother invited you, so go. And we have to diverse Celia's closet, she doesn't even have half the amount of clothes you have." Gloria told him. "Family needs to be close. Right, Jay?"
"I'm pretty sure this is a typo." He was still caught up about the fact that his little plane was for little kids.

We just arrived Luke's house.
"Manny brought his favourite game to play with Luke." Gloria said to Claire.
Manny took it out of his backpack and showed it to her. "It's called Empire. You use strategy to expand territories and take over the world."
UGH. WHY CAN'T I USE STRATEGY TO EXPAND TERRITORIES AND TAKE OVER THE WORLD?
Celia. Calm down. You're doing this for Gloria. You can survive one afternoon. She took you in when you had nowhere to go. You can do this.
"Luke is gonna love that. He's out back playing." I looked and he was on the trampoline with a box on his head and only in his underwear.
"At least someone is enjoying himself." I mumbled under my breath.
Gloria glared at me and asked to Claire: "Do you need us to get you something while we're out shopping?"
"That's such a nice offer, but I think we're good. Thanks."
Alex entered the room. "Okay. What about this?" She showed her shirt to her mom.
"You don't even say 'Hello' to Gloria, Celia and Manny?" She questioned her.
She turned to us. "Hi, Gloria, Celia and Manny." She re-turns to her mother. "Okay, Mom, what about this?"
"No. You're wearing a dress." Claire answered without looking at her.
Alex gasped. "Mom, come on."
"What? It's gonna kill you to look like a girl for one afternoon?" She questioned her daughter.
"Well, I can relate to that." I mumbled again. Gloria hit my shoulder. "Ow!"
"But it's a wedding for some friend of yours I never even heard of." Alex bargained.
"It's non-negotiable. You can borrow a dress of Haley's again." Claire ordered.
"No. That sends an ugly message, that I'm Haley. You know, instead of trying to force me to wear a dress, why don't you worry about getting Luke to wear some pants?"
